Chapter 7

"Aahh!! The National team tournament is finally approaching!" Maiko squealed while taking a bite out of her lunch.

"Tsk, they're just a waste of my time." Lui objected and also took a bite out of his lunch. Because of Maiko, he was forced to eat lunch. Now, they're alone at the school rooftop. Eating peacefully.

"Aww come on!! It'll be fun!" Maiko tried to reason with him.

"Tsk, doubt it." Lui rolled his eyes. Maiko sighed in disappointment. "You're such a party pooper." She pouted then took another bite. "I only battle people worth my time. Besides they can handle it without me. I wouldn't join them if I think they're losers." He explained. "Suit yourself." Maiko sighed.

Lui noticed the girl's warm smile. "What?" He questioned. "Ohh nothing~" She just giggled. Lui just rolled his eyes.

"Mom! I'm home! And I brought Lui! We're gonna do our homework together!" Maiko shouted as they entered the Kaneguro mansion.

"Oh! Hi dear! Hi Lui!" Mrs. Kaneguro brightly greeted them. "Hello Mrs. Kaneguro." Lui politely greeted. "Oh plss, just call me 'Sara'. " Mrs. Kaneguro insisted. "Ok Ms. Sara." Lui obeyed. Sara just giggled. "Just call me if you need anything ok." She reminded. "Ok mom!" Maiko said as she grabbed Lui's hand and ran off towards her bedroom.

But they slowed down the room before hers. They're hearing two voices from the room infront of them. Because of Maiko being so nosy, she decided to place her ear beside the door and listened carefully. Lui was also curious, so he followed her.

"𝑂ℎ 𝐵𝑎𝑏𝑦!!! 𝐶𝑜𝑚𝑒 𝑜𝑛!! 𝐻𝑎𝑣𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑎 𝑝𝑒𝑡 𝑤𝑖𝑙𝑙 𝑏𝑒 𝑓𝑢𝑛!!" A female voice shouted from the other side of the door. "𝑁𝑜! 𝐴𝑦𝑎𝑘𝑎! 𝐼𝑡'𝑙𝑙 𝑏𝑒 𝑡𝑜𝑜 ℎ𝑎𝑟𝑑 𝑡𝑜 ℎ𝑎𝑛𝑑𝑙𝑒! 𝐼'𝑚 𝑎𝑙𝑟𝑒𝑎𝑑𝑦 𝑏𝑢𝑠𝑦 𝑒𝑛𝑜𝑢𝑔ℎ 𝑎𝑠 𝑖𝑡 𝑖𝑠!" A male voice can be heard...

It was Zac's..

Lui widened his eyes to say something but Maiko quickly put a finger in infront of her lips.

"𝐶𝑜𝑚𝑒 𝑜𝑛!!! 𝐼𝑡'𝑙𝑙 𝑏𝑒 𝑓𝑢𝑛! 𝐼 𝑝𝑟𝑜𝑚𝑖𝑠𝑒! 𝐷𝑜𝑛'𝑡 𝑦𝑜𝑢 𝑤𝑎𝑛𝑡 𝑎𝑛 𝑎𝑑𝑜𝑟𝑎𝑏𝑙𝑒 𝑙𝑖𝑡𝑡𝑙𝑒 𝑝𝑢𝑝𝑝𝑦 𝑡𝑜 𝑐𝑢𝑑𝑑𝑙𝑒 𝑤𝑖𝑡ℎ 𝑤ℎ𝑖𝑙𝑒 𝑦𝑜𝑢 𝑤𝑜𝑟𝑘??" The girl tried to reason with Zac.

"𝐼 𝑎𝑙𝑟𝑒𝑎𝑑𝑦 ℎ𝑎𝑣𝑒 𝑦𝑜𝑢." Zac simply said. "𝐴𝑟𝑔ℎ! 𝐷𝑜𝑛'𝑡 𝑝𝑢𝑙𝑙 𝑡ℎ𝑎𝑡 𝑡𝑟𝑖𝑐𝑘 𝑜𝑛 𝑚𝑒!" The female said. And they could hear a pillow being thrown towards a person's face. This caused Maiko to giggle loudly. She probably assumed, it was Zac's face.

And not long after, the door was opened. And the pair crashed on the floor. They were met with the glaring eyes of Zac, with his arms crossed.

"Ahahahaha... Hi Zac.." Maiko sweat dropped. While Lui just stayed quiet. The pair also noticed a woman with long pink hair staring at the window, her arms also crossed.

"Hi Ayaka!" Maiko greeted the woman. This made her turn her head and squealed, as she ran towards the smaller girl on the floor and picked her up.

"AAA! Maiko! How wonderful to see you!" Ayaka shouted as she squeezed the smaller girl and swayed her from side to side. "You probably know I'm not in good terms with your brother right now.." Ayaka glared at Zac, meanwhile he just sweat dropped.

She then noticed Lui.

"Oh! Lui Shirosagi! What a surprise to see you here! I'm Ayaka!" She kindly greeted as she extended her hand for him to shake. Lui accepted it and shook it softly. "Nice to meet you Ayaka." He politely greeted.

"𝑊ℎ𝑜 𝑘𝑛𝑒𝑤 𝐿𝑢𝑖 𝑐𝑜𝑢𝑙𝑑 𝑏𝑒 𝑠𝑜 𝑝𝑜𝑙𝑖𝑡𝑒??" Maiko thought to herself. She just smiled warmly at the scene in front of her.

"Ehem!" Zac interrupted. This caused Ayaka, Maiko, and Lui to look at him.

"Mind telling me why you two were eavesdropping?? Hmm??" He asked. "Ahaha! Oh! Mom's calling me! Gotta go! Hahaha! Bye Zac! Bye Ayaka!" Maiko nervously said as she grabbed Lui's hand and quickly made a run for it.

As soon as the younger pair were gone, Ayaka glanced back at Zac and quickly changed her smile to a frown. She turned her back away from Zac and crossed her arms. And furrowed her brows angrily.

Zac just sighed at the woman in front of him.

"Alright alright! What pet do you want?" He finally gave in. And was immediately tackled in a hug. "AAAA YOU'RE THE BEST BOY FRIEND EVER!!!" Ayaka squealed as she hugged her boyfriend tightly. "Anything for you sunshine." He simply said, caressing her soft face. And pulled her into a kiss.

They finally reached Maiko's room. It was a large bedroom with a Queen size bed in the center. Posters of herself were placed on the wall. And there was a shelf full of trophies from the singing competitions she entered. So is a shelf full of figurines. And next to the window is a computer.

"Who's Ayaka?" Lui asked as he sat on the bed. He's been on Maiko's house quite alot before, but he never saw Ayaka.

"She's Zac's girlfriend." Maiko simply answered while rummaging her drawer.

Lui widened his eyes at this.

"𝑍𝑎𝑐 ℎ𝑎𝑠 𝑎 𝑔𝑖𝑟𝑙𝑓𝑟𝑖𝑒𝑛𝑑?!" He thought to himself.

"Wow! They're really experts at keeping secrets. I never knew he had a girlfriend." Lui said as he crossed his arms. "Yep! They want to keep their relationship private. So that the media won't be all over their face." Maiko answered again, not looking back at the boy behind her, as she took some papers from the drawer.

"Huh." Was all Lui could say.

When suddenly, Marina's fluffy white cat walked up to Lui and rubbed its face against his leg, purring. Lui smiled at the cat and picked him up.

"Haha! Hello there Prince!" He greeted the cat and sat it on his lap.

She finally faced Lui and held up the papers in her hands.

"Let's start on that math homework shall we~?" She winked.
