It was the day before the finals. And Lui was training all alone again. With Maiko, of course. But Maiko fell asleep in the corner. Lui didn't bother to stop, he just kept training. Not caring if the girl's nap will be disturbed.
Suddenly, Gabe walked inside the room.
"If you're going to disrupt my training, this better be important!" He said, not giving Gabe a glance. "What do you want?" He asked, clearly annoyed.
"Lui trust me, I know more than anyone how much you hate having your workouts interrupted." "Rideout's matches are important too. We need to talk." Gabe said with authority.
"No. I told you to take care of the team's stuff and leave ME out of it." "The only opponents I battle are those I deem worthy. No exceptions." He argued.
"But-"
"Get out!" Lui shouted at his own captain."I'm starting to wonder what Maiko sees in you.." He said, noticing the girl that was sleeping peacefully at the corner of the room. He was starting to doubt how Maiko could like a guy as selfish as Lui?
This struck a nerve on Lui.
"Leave her out of this!" He angrily shouted.
"Should've known..." Gabe said while walking towards the sleeping girl. Lui glared at his captain.
"Stay. away. from. her." Lui gritted his teeth.
"Calm down." Gabe said while kneeling towards the girl. He gently shook the sleeping girl, waking her up. Maiko groggily opened her eyes. "Gabe..?" She yawned. "Come on, let's get you home." Gabe offered, and helped her stand up.
"But what about Lui?" She asked while rubbing her tired eyes. "Don't worry about him." Gabe smiled at the girl, but glared at Lui. Lui was giving the two (specifically Gabe) a murderous look.
Maiko looked back at Lui, he was glaring daggers at Gabe. But Marina's brain was too tired to function so she just ignored it. "Okay.." She yawned and walked away with Gabe.

It was finally the finals and Maiko woke up with so much energy. She got dressed and went downstairs to eat breakfast. "Good morning- oh! Hi Ayaka!" She greeted Ayaka. And the older woman greeted back. Maiko was gobbling down her pancakes quite fast.
"Maiko... Slow down. Your food isn't going anywhere you know?" Zac sweatdropped. "I can't brother! I'm just so excited! It's finally the finals!!!!" Maiko was quite hyper in the morning.
They finally drove off to the arena, with Ayaka driving of course. They were looking for good seats and noticed Xander waving at them. "Yo! Over here!" He shouted. When they arrived at the seats saved for them, they noticed that all of The Superstars and The sword Flames members were there as well.
As soon as they sat down, the chairman began his speech.
"Athletes, as you know, these matches are not about individual strength. At the end of the day, it will always be good teamwork that determines who wins and who loses. I wish you all luck, and look forward to seeing some incredible beyblading today." The chairman concluded his speech.
And the whole arena clapped.
"That was Shin Kamazaki! The chairman of the tournament!" "Time for the last team standing to take the stage for the finals!" "LET'S GOO!!" Hanami announced.
"In the red corner, with bottomless determination! It's The Beigoma Academy Beyclub!" And the whole arena cheered. Even Xander and Zac. "You can do this twinkle toes!" Zac cheered. "Yo! You guys better win this!" Xander shouted.
"And in the blue corner! A force to be reckon with! At the top of the food chain! It's Rideout!" "Woah! Shocker! Lui Shirosagi still isn't here!" Hanami said.
"Oh Lui...." Maiko sighed.
"Huh? I actually thought that Lui would show up, since it's the finals.." Ayaka said. "What a selfish brat." Xander scoffed. And Maiko could only hung her head in shame. They weren't lying though...
"Don't worry! Rideout can do this! With or without Lui!" Maiko reassured. She was specifically trying to cheer HERSELF up. She was disappointed on how Lui was so selfish to the point that he doesn't even bother helping his team in the finals.
"The first competitor from Rideout. The young but Promising, Kyo Xandai!" Hanami introduced Kyo.
"WOOHH!! YOU CAN DO IT KYO!!" Maiko cheered.
"I've got an enormous fanbase backing me up!" Rantaro boasted. "You can brag all you want, it won't help you win!" Kyo fought back. "Hah! Maybe not! But it sure feels good!" Rantaro fired back. "Stop doing that!" Kyo was annoyed.
"Don't worry Kyo! You'll think of a better roast next time!!" Maiko shouted.
But unfortunately, Kyo lost with a ring out finish.
"Next up! The undisputed leader of Rideout! Gabe Brunei!" It was Gabe's time to shine.
"GO GABE!!" Maiko cheered loudly.
And Gabe won with survivor finish.
"WOOHOO!! LET'S GO GABE!!!" Maiko proudly cheered. "You're really cheering hard for Rideout huh?" Xander flashed her a grin. "Teehee~ Of course!" Maiko winked at him.
"Wait... Shinki's up next right..? And he's up against Shu Kurenai...." Maiko was worried. It wasn't that she doesn't believe in Shinki, it's just that at his level, he clearly has no match against a member of the supreme four.
She stepped outside and decided to call Lui.
"𝐻𝑒𝑙𝑙𝑜?"
"Lui... Pls cooperate with Rideout...It's the finals... They need you.." Maiko begged.
"𝑇ℎ𝑒𝑦 𝑐𝑎𝑛 ℎ𝑎𝑛𝑑𝑙𝑒 𝑖𝑡 𝑏𝑦 𝑡ℎ𝑒𝑚𝑠𝑒𝑙𝑣𝑒𝑠-" Lui was cut off.
"And if they lose you'll blame THEM?!"Maiko finally snapped.
It was the first time she ever snapped at him. And Lui was shocked.
"Lui this is a TEAM effort! What's the point of you joining the team if you're not even gonna cooperate?!" She scolded. Lui was silent. Honestly? He was too scared to argue back.
"I'm disappointed in you Lui..." Those were Maiko last words before she hung up.
She went back inside and sat down. Shinki's match was about to start and Maiko could only hope that his strength was enough to beat Shu.
"Huh? He's using his left hand?" Maiko asked to no one in particular. "But...He's right handed right? And I never saw him launch with his left hand... Shinki has the advantage!" Maiko gasped in realization. Shinki might be lucky enough to win this since Shu is launching with his non-dominant hand.
......
But it really was just hopeful thinking. Shinki lost with a burst finish.
"Oh no..." Maiko was worried Rideout could actually lose.
"YOU'RE AN EMBARRASSMENT GET OFF THE STAGE!" A sudden roar shocked the whole stadium.
"I can't believe it...." Zac was surprised. And he thought he was good with dazzling entrances. "He actually came..." Xander said. "Talk about fashionably late." Ayaka commented as well.
"He actually showed up..." Maiko gasped. She was too bewildered that Lui showed up, she's only focusing on him and blocked off all the sounds in the arena (literally). She was only staring at Lui and literally can't hear anything. She didn't even know Lui was dissing his own teamate on live TV.
