Chapter 18

"3!"

"2!"

"1!"

"LET IT... RIP!"

"The 3rd battle has begun and both competitors fight to dominate the center!"

"I don't even need a prelude now! Blast Beat!" Orochi commanded.

"Odax goes straight in for the attack with its signature move! How is Gaianon gonna brace itself for this?!"

"Swing launch!" Gabe commanded.

"Here it comes..."

And Odax hits Gaianon out of the center, but it immediately went back. And now Odax is trying to land a hit on Gaianon, but it's dodging it perfectly.

"YES! THAT'S IT GABE!" Maiko cheered.

And now Odax is raining hits on Gaianon. And it looks like it's working. "That's the way! Just keep going Orochi!!" Ayaka cheered. Maiko gritted her teeth. "Just stay strong Gabe!" She shouted.

"Now for the final movement... Attack!" Orochi commanded. And Odax came rushing in.

"Oh no! Gabe!" Maiko was worried.

It land a hit, but it didn't work.

"...Now swing counter!!" Gabe commanded. And instead of losing momentum, Gaianon increased its speed and turned the tables on Odax.

"YES!" Maiko clapped.

It went straight towards Odax and burst it. 

"YYYEEESSSS!!!!" Maiko screamed. "Oh no... Zac..." Ayaka said in worry. This made Maiko stop dancing and realise her brother also lost.

"Oh no, The Superstars lost..."
"But Rideout was amazing..."
"Gabe was awesome..."
"But poor Zac..."

"ARGH I DIDN'T KNOW CHEERING FOR BOTH TEAMS WAS THIS HARD!" She shouted in frustration.

Ayaka could see that The Superstars were having a hard time dealing with the loss. And even Zac knelt with them. "Big brother..." Maiko was feeling sorry. Anna could only stare with pity.

And one of the members placed a cape around Zac and patted his back. Suddenly, the lights went out, and it was silent. When a spotlight came down on Zac, he threw his cape in the air and he was now wearing his mask.

"Fear not my beloved fans! I may have setbacks, but I will always be here to guide you on your beyblade journey!" "I am invincible! For I am..."

"THE MASK BLADER!!"

"Such a beautiful ending.." Maiko shed a tear. Her big brother always knows how to bounce back from a defeat.

"That's Zac for ya.. A good sport and a good idol." Ayaka proudly said.

"With Zillion Zeutron as my witness. Until we meet again fans! I bid you Adieu!"

And poof! Zac was gone.

But the other 3 members were unfortunately the ones who clean up the props.

"It's time to introduce the teams that will move on to the finals, here at the National Tournament!" Hanami announced.

"First, the crew that's manage to topple one tournament favourite after another! The Beigoma Academy Beyclub!" Hanami introduced. The whole stadium cheered, but Maiko just clapped.

"They're up against a team that's given up only 2 points so far! The unrivalled, the extraordinary... Rideout!!"

"WOOHOO!! YEAH! ALRIGHT!" Maiko cheered loudly.

"This is sooo goood!!" Maiko complimented while happily chewing on her spaghetti. "Glad you like it!" Ayaka grinned.

The Superstars and Maiko was at Ayaka's house for lunch. It was to cheer up the team for their loss.

"That's my girlfriend's cooking!" Zac proudly said while chewing on his own spaghetti. And Ayaka just giggled at the compliments.

"Say, it's Rideout against The Beigoma Academy Beyclub right? Is Lui gonna show up for the finals?" Orochi asked Maiko. And she just sighed. "I don't know.." She answered. "But I'm sure Rideout will find a way to win!" She said confidently. Orochi just smiled.

"I wish we would've won tho..." Orochi hung his head low, he's feeling guilty, he thinks he's the reason they lost. "Oh it's ok Orochi... You guys did your best!" Ayaka placed a hand on his shoulder to cheer him up. "Don't worry my friend! There's always next year!" Zac cheered him up.

Orochi just smiled at how understanding his team is.

"AHAHAHA! HI LOKI!!!" Maiko happily greeted the baby shark. Lui just crossed his arms and sat on the bed. Minutes later, Maiko sat next to him and laid her head on his shoulder.

Lui blushed slightly and looked away.

"The finals are coming.... Are you finally gonna help your team??" Maiko asked him. "Huh? Rideout won the semifinals?" Lui asked. Marina just sweatdropped. "Man.. You really don't watch the matches huh??" She said. Lui didn't say anything. "Hmm..Depends." Lui answered her first question. Maiko smiled lightly.

"𝑇ℎ𝑒𝑟𝑒'𝑠 𝑎 𝑐ℎ𝑎𝑛𝑐𝑒 ℎ𝑒 𝑚𝑖𝑔ℎ𝑡 𝑎𝑐𝑡𝑢𝑎𝑙𝑙𝑦 𝑠ℎ𝑜𝑤 𝑢𝑝!" She hoped.

She took out her phone and played the semifinals match. "Here, it's the battle between Beigoma VS The beasts, and The Superstars VS Rideout." She forced Lui to watch it with her so he'll have a clue on what their opponent can do.
