Chapter 17

It was the National team tournament semifinals. And Maiko was going crazy on who she's gonna cheer for.

Her brother's team? Or her friend's team?

"I need to cool off.." She sighed. Her brother was already at the arena, tho the match hasn't started yet. Zac just wanted to train. She couldn't bring herself to go there yet, she just can't pick one team.

Good thing Rideout VS The Superstars match is after Beigoma Academy Beyclub VS The Beasts, she has alot of time to think.

"Oh! I know!"

She changed her clothes and went to Rideout Academy. She knows Lui is training at the school gym right now. She just wants to pay him a visit.

She doesn't know why, but despite Lui's intimidating appearance, seeing Lui gives her peace.

She finally arrived at the school and immediately ran to the gym.

"LUI-AH!" The second she stepped into the room, her life flashed before her eyes. She was almost hit by the chord. Lui looked back in annoyance.

"Tsk! What are you doing here?!" He asked. "Awww is it bad to visit a friend?" Maiko answered. Another 'tsk' came out of Lui and pulled the chord again. But this time Marina dodged it.

"WAH!"

"Chill out would ya?!" Maiko shrieked when she made it to Lui. And Lui just stared at her and went back to training. Maiko just sighed.

"Hey~ I know you're hungry... So I brought you a snack~!" She said while waving a paper bag in front of her. "I don't need it." Was all Lui said and went back to pulling the chord. Maiko let out a 'hmp!' and slammed her hand on the machine.

"Lui Shirosagi! You are going to eat this snack or else I'll request the principal to lock you out from this room!" She shouted.

And for the first time in history...

Lui was scared.

Maiko was staring at the shrunken Lui with fire in her eyes.

"Ok! Ok! Fine!" He surrendered and took the snack. And Maiko's intimidating face instantly changed into a happy smile as she clapped her hands in victory.

They were on the floor now. And Lui was still eating the snack Maiko brought him.

They were both watching the previous team battles. Lui wasn't really watching the matches. He doesn't even know what's going on. So Maiko insisted on watching the replays of the matches so he could catch up.

"Wow that kid is a loser."

"No surprise they lost."

"How did that team even make it in the tournament in the first place??"

Those were some of the remarks Lui gave to the teams that lost. And Maiko could only sweat drop.

They finished binge watching all the previous matches. And Maiko looked at the clock and sighed. Lui noticed this and raised his eyebrow at her. Marina assumed he was asking "what's wrong?".

"The Superstars and Rideout are battling next. And I don't know who to cheer for.." She said as she looked at the ceiling.

"Well, can't you just cheer for the both of them? It doesn't really make a difference." Lui suggested. "Hmmm.. Maybe you're right!" Maiko beamed and stood up. "I'll be going now Lui, wanna come with?" She said while offering her hand.

"No." Lui rejected. "But Lui... It's the Semifinals.. Don't you want to cooperate this time?" Maiko tried to persuade him. "They can handle this themselves." He answered.

"Well, ok then." "Bye!" Maiko bid farewell, and without warning, kissed Lui's cheek.

Lui couldn't fight since the girl was already gone in a flash.

If only Maiko could see his flustered face.

"Jerk." He grumbled and went back to training.

Maiko arrived at the stadium just in time for the 2nd match to begin. The adrenaline rushing through her veins is inexplicable.

"Oohhhh!!! I can't wait to see what those guys have in store!!" She squealed.

"Looks like someone's excited." The woman beside her chuckled. Maiko took a peak at the woman and gasped in realization. But Ayaka quickly hushed her.

"Wow, never seen you in the front row before!" She said. It was rare for the movie star to sit at a place where people would suspect her.

"I NEED to have the best seats in the house for this match of course! Ahahaha!" Ayaka explained.

"𝑌𝑜𝑢 𝑟𝑒𝑎𝑙𝑙𝑦 𝑙𝑜𝑣𝑒 𝑍𝑎𝑐 ℎ𝑢ℎ?" Maiko thought while smiling warmly at the woman in front of her.

Ayaka made a risky move of sitting infront just so she could watch Zac's match clearly. The support this woman has for her boyfriend is amazing.

"Lights! camera! Action!" "I'm so sorry for keeping you waiting fans!" "I promise to make up for it with some pizzaz!"

"PIZZAZ!" Zac made his little entrance, and the fangirls screamed. Maiko and Ayaka just chuckled.

But when Rideout was introduced that's Maiko's turn to scream.

"AAAAA!! GO RIDEOUT!!!!" Ayaka flinched as the girl beside her, screamed at the top of her lungs.

"It's a true clash of the titans! Neither side has given up a single point from their previous opponents!"

"Would our first bladers pls step forward!"

"Surprise! Teehee!" It was an unexpected turn for Zac to go first.

"Huh? They're going with Zac first-" Marina was cut off with a sudden shout.

"GO ZAC! YOU AND THE SUPERSTARS CAN WIN THIS! I BELIEVE IN YOU!" And Ayaka quietly went back to her seat. "Don't worry, I'm sure whatever they're planning is gonna be a success." Ayaka calmly said.

Marina was still shocked and could only stare. It was the first time she heard Ayaka shout that loud within the whole tournament. Good thing she was smart to attach a voice changer in her shirt so no one will suspect. Even Zac didn't notice it.

"And from Rideout we have... Katana Sakaki!" "With razor-sharp reflexes and nerves cold as steel!" "All of Rideout's victories begun with him!"
"Let's see if he can slice through today's competition!" Hanami introduced Katana.

"WOOHH!! GO KATANA!!! I KNOW HIM! HE'S MY FRIEND!!" Maiko proudly cheered.

"Hah! Ya'know, a little smile goes a long way."
"Why don't you flash those pearly whites of yours to the fans??"

"I'll have plenty of time to smile after I finish wiping you off the floor!"

"WOAH KATANA! YOU NAILED THAT BURN!" Maiko complimented.

But sadly, Katana's light went out with a single strike.

"Poor Katana..."
"WOOHOO! GO ZAC!!"

Maiko and Ayaka glared at each other.

And it was finally Kyo's time to shine.

He won with a ring out finish.

"WOOHOO!! THAT'S WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT KYO!!" Maiko cheered, and Ayaka could only glare at her.

And it was Orochi and Gabe's turn to battle.

"GO OROCHI!"
"GO GABE!"
"GO OROCHI!"
"GO GABE!"

The muses of the teams were having their own battle.

"OROCHI!"
"GABE!"
"NO! OROCHI!"
"GABE!"
"OROCHI!"

The two ladies were fuming at each other right now. And the people around them could only stare at confusion as to why Little Miss Starlight was having a heated argument with an anonymous person.
