A Beyblade Burst fanfic: The White Tyrant's Starlight (Lui Shirosagi x OC)

Chapter 35

The two couples were having a great time on the cruise. They even did a little shopping.

And now, they were at the food court, eating peacefully.

"Oh! I heard there was a rent-a-pet store here! Where you can take care of the pet until your stay here is over." Ayaka announced. And Maiko was squealing with excitement, while giving Lui a bone crushing hug.

"AHHH!! I JUST HAVE TO GET ONE!!!" Maiko shouted. Ayaka and Zac just chuckled, meanwhile Lui looked like he was seeing his final moments.

Maiko finally let go of the poor guy, and gave him air.

"Of course! It's just right around the corn—" Zac wasn't even done pointing out the directions — Maiko was already gone in a flash.

Lui sighed, and stood up. "I'll go get her." He said and followed Maiko to who knows where.

He remembered Zac saying the pet shop's around the corner, so he followed his directions. There, he passed by the pet shop and saw his girlfriend cuddling all of the adorable pets inside.

He went inside and saw Maiko on the ground, with a puppy on top of her. "HAHAHA! THAT TICKLES!" She giggled. She finally noticed Lui towering over her. "Oh! Hi Lui! Teehee~" She waved at him, and got back to playing with the puppy.

Lui just sighed and let Maiko play with the pets. He sat on one of the benches and watched her play with the cute animals.

A few minutes have passed, and Maiko walked over to Lui with an adorable kitten in her hands. Lui raised a brow. "Can we keep her?? Plsss!!!" Maiko showed off her signature puppy eyes. And Lui nodded, giving in to her cuteness.

They both walk out of the store, with the kitten in Maiko's hands.

"I'm gonna name you... 'Evee'! Teehee~!" She giggled.

And Maiko's full attention was now on Evee, completely ignoring her boyfriend beside her the whole walk back to the food court.

And Lui was feeling slightly...

Jealous...?

Of a cat...?

He only let out a 'tsk'. But his girlfriend was oblivious to his jealousy and just kept playing with the cat.

Once the couple got back to the food court, they saw Ayaka and Zac waiting for them at the table they sat earlier.

Maiko rushed towards the older couple and introduced Evee to them.

"Evee, this is uncle Zac!" Maiko pointed to Zac, using Evee's paw.

She turned to Ayaka. "And this, is his girlfriend, Aunt Ayaka!".

"Well hello there cutie~!" Ayaka shook Evee's little paw. And both she and Maiko giggled.

Zac noticed Lui's cold, hard glare. "Jealous of a CAT I see?" he said internally, and smirked.

"Well, me and Zac are gonna go buy something. Catch you later!" Ayaka waved goodbye, and she and Zac walked off to who knows where.

And it was just Lui, Maiko, and of course, Evee left. "Come on, Lui! Let's go buy some food for Evee!" Maiko giggled as she took Lui's hand, and led him to the supermarket.

But while walking around, they bumped into 3 super buff teenagers.

"Huh! Look guys! It's two short weaklings! MWAHAHA!" The first guy said.

"Oh look! What's this?" The other guy said as he effortlessly took Evee from Maiko's hands.

"H-hey! Give my cat back!" She yelled and jumped up, trying to get her Evee back. But it was no use, she was petite against the 3 guys.

Lui gritted his teeth and clenched his fist at the scene infront of him. "How dare they?!" He mentally cursed. They DARE mess with HIS starlight?!

Lui was about to fight back, but noticed Maiko taking off her heels.

He stepped back, seeing that it looks like his girlfriend already has this covered.

"HANDS. OF. MY. CAT. YOU BIG ABOMINABLE BOZO!" She shouted as she smacked her shoe at the head of the guy who was holding Evee. "AND  GOODNESS GRACIOUS GLORY ME! WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME YOU SHOWERED! YOU REEK!!" She continued smacking the guy's head until he let go of Evee.

Evee quickly ran to Lui. And despite his jealousy for the cat, he picked her up. And they both watch Little Miss Starlight smack the 3 bozos.

"That's my girl." He smirked.

The other two couldn't do anything but stare. They were stupefied at how a short girl like her could be a troll. After Maiko was done with the first guy, she glared into the eyes of the other two blockheads.

They all shivered in fear and quickly ran off. "Hmp! Finally! What a nuisance." She crossed her arms. "I'll have them reported to the authorities!" She then went back to Lui and Evee. "Are you ok, Evee?" She asked, as she stroke Evee's soft fur. Evee jumped into her temporary owner's arms, comforted by her warmth.

"Now come on. Let's go buy our little Evee a snack." Maiko smiled at Lui.

They all went back to their rooms after buying all the stuff they needed. And Maiko was exhausted.

Lui crashed into his bed, wanting to rest after a long day. As he was about to close his eyes, he felt the weight of the bed shift. He turned around and saw Marina beside him, knocked out.

He smiled at his starlight, and gave her a soft kiss at the forehead.

He layed on his side and faced his sleeping beauty. Then, Evee squeezed herself between the two.

They looked like a family. Maiko and Lui on both sides, facing each other, while Evee was at the middle.

Suddenly, all of Lui's anger for the cat was gone.
