How quickly jealous I become of the wind when it, and not I, gets the privilege of properly messing up your hair.

Charlotte's POV...

It was morning already and my alarm woke me up. My head hurt from the insufficient sleep I'd had last night. I stayed awake for long waiting for Bash to show up since he'd wanted to talk to me, but he never came.

Getting off the bed I made my way to the bathroom and got started on my day to the first day back at office after the marriage. I got ready and got to the stairs to go to the living room when the electronic code-lock signaled someone typing in the code and entering the house. I walked over to the door and saw Bash there who looked surprised but smiled.

"Morning Ari. You ready?" He asked me.

"Morning Ebby, and yea I'm almost ready. Want some breakfast?" I offer without asking about yesterday.

"Actually, I was wondering if you wanted to get breakfast together." He asks tilting his head to the side in a cute manner.

I nod in answer and rush to get my bag and other stuff before I stand in front of him and we leave. He drove us to a new diner and I swear I was about to have a breakdown with the number of new places opening up.

Getting out of the car Bash rushed to my side and held the door open for me, placing his hand on the small of my back as soon as I got out. We walked together to the door where he opened and held it for me, before entering the place.

We sat down in a booth as a waitress came and took our orders. As is usual with many young female waitresses, she too flirted with Bash right in front of me, which annoyed me more than it would usually.

I knew full well what it meant.

The two of us gave our drinks and food order to her soon and when she left, Bash asked me to sit next to him. When I raised an eyebrow at that he said he did not want the girl to rub her boobs against him again and I chuckled.

"I can't sit next to you though." I begin and his face fell, "Because then she'll think I'm an insecure bitch and make more exaggerated moves on you. I would rather not see that happening. Instead maybe you can move a little to the centre." I finish and he smiles.

"So you're not insecure about our relationship huh?" He said in a husky voice and I swear I melted right then and there. Gathering myself somehow, I smirked a little before replying,

"Nope, not one bit. You're my Ebby after all." I was hoping he would notice that I'm trying to drop hints.

Bash looked like he was trying his best to bite back a smile but it bloomed on his face anyway. He looked down in hopes of hiding it and slid further into the seat so he was far from the waitress. I was itching to ask him about his talk with James, but I had to be patient and give them space because what happens between the two of them is in fact none of my business. I just didn't want two friends to lose their friendship over me, I wouldn't be able to live with such guilt.

The girl sashayed back to our table carrying a tray and started placing our food in front of us. She messed up my order a bit and it looked purposeful but it was alright since I had expected something like this to happen and had ordered accordingly.

Bash was a different story though. Saying he was pissed would be the understatement of the year. He was absolutely furious, but asked for the manager politely. When the manager guy came to our table he was scared shitless, turns out this diner was under the Gray's group and was a new investment. Though the Gray's were only investing partners, they held a good portion of the shares that this chain of diners owned, while the original owners of the group remained the major share holders.

When the manager was close enough, Bash started inquiring about the girl, and although the guy first thought Bash to have been interested it soon became clear how pissed at her he actually was. With that realization, the manager let us know that the girl was the owner's daughter.

Bash shot off the table and went off to talk to them at the back and upon our entrance the girl walked back to him with a seductive sway of her hips. Bash ignored that and went up to her parents to tell them about the misbehavior of their daughter and get her to apologize to me.

All that went to the drain however, when her parents did not care one bit, even after he threatened to pull his investment. So Bash did exactly what he promised and I was saved from investing in their chain as they had applied for investment under our group too.

After that disaster we settled on picking up burgers and fries through a drive in and then drove to my office, since it was closer. We settled in our seats with Finn and recounted the whole thing when I asked him the thing that was bothering me.

"Why would you go to such lengths to make sure I was apologized to?"
