10|| Sebastian and French toast
The next day Bash was waiting in the living room when I made my way downstairs after dressing up for work. It took me by surprise and I almost missed a step, but thankfully I did not. When I reached the last step Bash wrapped his arms around me in a tight hug and then letting go, he told me we were going out for breakfast.
"You did not call me last night and I was one second away from coming here and demanding you tell me what he did so I can go beat him up. So you owe me breakfast as an apology." Bash said as he drove towards a diner that boasted the best egg rolls and French toast.
"Why would you straight out suggest beating him up? I could've said something to him too, I can be the bad guy too." I asked him.
"Why are you taking his side right now? Are we over the stage of hating him for accusing you of cheating and breaking up with you?" He asked. He looked really excited and I smiled, although his bringing the accusation back up had my mind reeling again as James' question right before he left was brought to the forefront of my mind.
"Before I leave Char, I want to ask you something." He said as we stood at the front porch.
"Go ahead James." I nodded at him.
"Will you give me, us, a second chance? I know I really messed up four years back, but we're not the same people we were back then and this time I have therapy to help me through difficulties. So will you give us a second chance, please?" He asked and something settled in my stomach.
I saw Bash stop in front of the diner and schooled my expression and gave him a small smile. We got off the car and went into the diner where the waitress excitedly took us to a table. She gave us our menus and asked what we'd like to drink and left us alone to bring us our coffees.
"I forgave him for everything Bash. And I told him so yesterday." I said to him.
"You did? You really did?" He looked so excited that guilt pinched me for a moment. I had been the reason him and Mark had to keep James at a distance even though they were his best friends.
"Hey, I know that look. We did not keep our distance because of you, we did so because we couldn't believe he was able to do something like that. It was our choice, capiche?" He finished right as the waitress brought our coffees.
I nodded at him in reply and quickly scanned the menu deciding at the egg rolls and chocolate chip pancakes. When I look up ready to place my order, I see the waitress looking at him Bash with a seductive look on her face and stance. It bothered me to see that people try to seduce their customers instead of focusing on the task at hand.
"I think I'll have whatever she orders, I can't seem to decide." Bash said after a while and looked at me.
"You said you wanted to try the French toast with the egg rolls though. Not up for it anymore?" I asked and the look on his face was comical.
"I'll have that, French toast and egg rolls." He rushed out.
Biting back a smile at him I placed my order and the waitress rolled her eyes at me before walking away. Bash saw my face and summoned the girl from the counter and requested for a different waitress. I gave him a surprised look and he rolled his eyes at me.
"I would not sit back and watch someone disrespect you or insult you. Definitely not some desperate waitress who thinks shoving her breasts at her customer will make him want her. Like, seriously woman? We need food, that's what we're looking for in the menu, so back off."
By the time he had finished his rant, I was laughing so bad that tears were gathered in the corners of my eyes. I was chuckling when a different woman brought us our food and apologized for the behavior of the previous waitress.
"What would I ever do without you Bash." I chuckled.
"Not live a jolly life, that's for sure," He replied with a smile that almost looked like he was biting back his words.
"Very true. Thank you Bash, for making life worth it after all that happened and supporting me so much." I said meaning every word I said.
