The next day felt like a new experience even though we've been staying over at each other's place for quite a while.
After Mia left, Ebby and I had gone over to his place and brought most of his things over to my place as it was a house as opposed to his condo. And the things that were there in the guest bedroom had been shifted into the master bedroom too, so this was an official moving in for us.
Over the next couple days, we formed a rhythm of moving around each other as we got ready for our offices. I'd cook the breakfast, he'd prepare the coffee. I'd shower after him as he got dressed, or vice versa. We'd take his car one day, my car the next. Sometimes one of us would shower as the other made the breakfast. It was a lovely routine and it almost resembled a rhythmic dance with how fluidly we fell into this pace.
The comfort and ease of it all had my heart bursting with happiness.
It was nearly a month after Ebby moved in, when Mia barged in one morning as we were getting ready. Well truthfully, we were dancing in the kitchen as the pancakes cooked on the pan.
"You guys are so freaking cute it makes me want to barf." Mia's voice echoed in the small space of the kitchen and had us jumping apart.
"Why thank you Mia, for ruining a beautiful moment early in the morning." Ebby grumbled.
I went around the counter and hugged her tightly and she clung to me too. When we parted Mark hugged me and pressed a kiss to my head wishing me a good morning. We sat down as Ebby placed the food on the counter.
"So, I've managed to look up a few places for you to get married in. Just tell me the date and I'll have the things set up accordingly." Mia said after we finished eating.
"Why don't you show us the places first?" I asked her.
"You doubt my abilities?" She hissed.
"We have a few dates in mind, Mia. It'll be easier to decide one when we look at the places, or so I hope," I said hotly.
She winced and apologized before showing us the places. There were three halls and an open ground. The halls were each different from one another with how spacious they were and how many windows were there. But neither I nor Ebby liked any of these, and so Mia grinned and brought up the open ground.
The place was pretty and we could do anything we wished to make it look like the perfect autumn wedding, but it still didn't settle with me.
And that is when she brought up another place. It was a backyard kind of place that led into a decked creek.
A smile spread across my face as the area sunk in. I looked up at Mia and saw her smirking at me.
"I know she feels this is the best venue." Ebby said with a chuckle.
"Why'd you show it the last?" I asked her with my eyes narrowed.
"She went on about saving the best and obvious choice for the last." Mark said and Mia rolled her eyes at him.
"I knew you'd pick this, so I wanted to see you guys struggle a bit." She shrugged and I rolled my eyes at her.
"So, dates?" She asked and I shared a look with Ebby.
"We have a few dates, but we're unable to decide. Maybe we could have our parents help us out too?" He asked and Mia deflated before agreeing.
Seeing it was a Saturday, I called mum and asked her to look for a place for dinner tonight. I also told her we wanted to start with the wedding talks so she'd invite everyone else.
We literally had a group chat where mum shared the places she picks out for our get-togethers.
After that Mia and Mark left as Ebby and I got ready for work. We drove off in our separate cars since we had to get to different places.
The rest of the day was mundane and repetitive with some impromptu meetings and files to get through. That evening Finn reminded me that we had a dinner to get to, the one that I got mum to arrange.
When we got there I saw Ebby waiting in the parking lot of the restaurant. Smiling I went over to him and wrapped my arms around him. He kissed my head and tightened his arms.
When we went in, the hostess led us to the upper floor of the place where the closed booths were. I saw my parents, Charlie, mama and along with her kids in there.
"Ah, it's the to-be-married couple!" Mama Knight said and everyone else chuckled.
"Good to see you too mama Knight." I say and hugged her.
In the next few minutes the others arrived and we ordered the food and drinks. The waiters bring our drinks right away and leave saying the food will take about 15-20 minutes.
"So, wedding talk huh?" Mom said in a suggestive tone and I blushed.
"Mama Scott, I love you and all, but only I get to make her blush like that." Ebby said and I glared at him.
Mum raised an eyebrow at that, thoroughly amused while dad narrowed his eyes. Ebby froze slightly before he forced himself to relax.
"We actually have a venue, and wanted help with the date." I said and mum, mama Knight and Illuka squealed.
"When and where?" Mama Knight asked.
"An autumn wedding, so like late October or early November, right before winter starts setting in." Ebby said with a small smile on his face.
"And the venue is, the Knott Creek." I say and their eyes widen.
