I could not tell you if I loved you the first moment I saw you or if it was the second or third or fourth. But I remember the first moment I looked at you walking toward me and realized that somehow the rest of the world seemed to vanish when I was with you.

My eyes widen as I process the words that escaped his mouth now as I stare at him on one knee on the ground. A voice in the crowd screamed, another man down! And that jolted me back to reality and I started nodding my head rapidly.
"Yes. Ebby, goodness of course I'll marry you." I laughed as the tears ran down my face.
Ebby pushed the ring up my finger and that's when I registered its presence. The ring was beautiful, not too big but enough to show that I was taken. A single diamond sat in the middle as tiny diamonds surrounded it in a rounded square. The band itself was platinum and I knew I was in love with it.
I hugged Ebby the moment he stood on his legs and then pulled away slightly to press a kiss to his lips. I love you I whispered against his lips and he smiled whispering it back to me. He then pulled back slightly and turned to face everyone else in the room.
"I guess the second part really is happening, welcome to my engagement party people!" He yelled and the people in the room either chuckled or laughed.
Everyone now came up to us and congratulated us on our engagement. Most single women gave me jealous looks, but the ones that didn't were so happy for me for having found love. I smiled all night till my cheeks hurt, and then some more.
When most people had spoken to us, the two of us found a moment to be together without anyone interrupting our time. We both just smiled at each other and stared into each other's eyes, finding our peace there.
"Is this why dad's been glaring at you all evening?" I ask him at some point to which he nods.
"When I asked him for his blessings for proposing to you, he said he doesn't ever recall you telling him we were dating. I told him it hasn't been long, but I was sure I wanted this and had a good feeling about your reply too, he agreed. With the help of your mum, obviously, but, he did." He recounted and laughed along with him, knowing exactly how that would've happened.
"What about Charlie though? What was his response to our engagement and dating?" I ask.
"My dad only said and I quote, 'You finally grew the balls to ask her, eh? Well good. You break her heart I break your face.' Can you believe this? First off he comments on my balls, then assumes I might break your heart some day and then threatens me like he's your father. I mean not even Edward said that to me." He whined.
"Believe it or not, she is my daughter. And I am not making any assumptions; I know you're too far gone to be able to break her heart. But a little warning never hurts, does it?" Charlie's chuckle sounded from behind us and then when we turned to him he continued, "Welcome to the family officially Lottie. I'm proud of my son finding the love of his life and finding that in you." He hugged me and then vanished just as like he'd appeared.
