I was sitting in the living room with Regina when David and Adam walked inside with Joschka.
"Hey, someone ordered a computer repair?" He joked in a quirky manner and his entire body wiggled when he laughed at his joke.
Everyone stared at him, and he went silent when he saw my heated up the body, "oh, this is much more serious than I anticipated."
I stood up and extended my hand, "Kiara, thank you for doing this."
He shot his brow up in nonchalant, "I heard it had Nikolai involved. I owe that guy."
I smiled and he returned it. Soon he was opening up the entire laptop and had it connected to several things.
"Do you think there is something important that would still be here?" He asked looking through the device, "I mean if someone went to such great lengths to create a replica of your original device then how are you sure they wouldn't have deleted the files from in here?"
I was leaning against the door, "I..even if they had deleted I know there are ways to recover the data plus at this point, I can't risk it"
"That's what Nikolai says a lot," Joschka added, smirking and I caught myself.
"I mean, I can't leave anything out basing them on assumptions."
"No wonder he likes you, you are as strong-headed as him." He clipped out a chip.
"No he doesn't like me and we are nothing alike."
Regina sputtered, "oh please."
I looked at them, I didn't know these people. They were practically planted by Nikolai to keep an eye on me and they were now making remarks on my 'chemistry' with Nikolai.
I rolled my eyes so hard that they started hurting, "would you look at that." Joschka said giddily and I saw a bright light on his face from the laptop screen, "it's on."
I ran up to him and sat beside him, "I owe you big time."
"No you don't," he said and readied his hands on the keyboard, "what's the password?"
I raised my brow and he sighed, "a man can try"
I punched in the password and it came out as incorrect, "bloody hell, they changed it."
Joschka grinned widely, "that's my fave part, you can sit back for a while now."
I heaved a sigh and stood up again, "does anyone need coffee?" I asked looking around and everyone raised a finger. I nodded and started towards the kitchen.
It took me a while to find everything but I finally prepared some coffee and started to pick up the tray but my hand gave up.
I have been putting way too much pressure on it lately and there were red spots all over my bandage.
"You're bleeding," a voice said and I turned to look who it was. David came into the kitchen and picked up the tray, "come, I'll patch a new one."
I hesitated and tried to decline but he insisted and I gave in as the red visibly started to spread under the layers.
David was opening up my bandage when we heard the door open, Regina walked sternly with her gun ready and peeked outside the room.
"It's Nikolai." She said and kept her gun back.
"What have you done to this?" David said as he opened the bandage and took a look, "it's messy."
"My life's been messy," I said and he laughed lowly.
