Each of us was trying to prepare ourselves for whatever we were going to face. I was still trying to piece everything together, trying to complete the puzzle.

My motive for coming here to Goldbridge was to find out what drove Dorian to take such an extreme step, but now that he was here, it became even more complicated. Why would someone go to such great length and execute such an elaborate scene to establish that Dorian was dead?

"What did Lydia and Jonathan tell you guys?" I asked as we sat in the living room.

Tanner looked at me uncomfortably and shifted in his seat, "they said that it was Mr Wembley who brought Dorian's body back and performed the funeral."

"But he told me that it was Dorian's elder brother, didn't he?" I said and Tanner nodded.

"That's what he told us... I mean.. me... I guess Olivia knew all along."

"Why would he lie?"

Tanner shrugged, "hopefully to keep you away from all of this?"

I shook my head, "but, who the hell did he bury? Didn't he knew Dorian was alive?"

Tanner stared at me and then bit his lip, "Kiara, there is something that I think you should know."

"What?"

"Mr Wembley... You didn't have a memory lapse, it was Mr Wembley who-"

"Who performed hypnosis, I know. Olivia told me how he did it merely days after we thought Dorian had passed away." I looked at him, "while he hadn't."

"My, don't be so shocked on my return I might think you don't like me," Dorian said with snark and then smiled.

"What?" Tanner spat, "he performed hypnosis after you started questioning him about Dorian. And it was last month."

I sat up straight, "then how the fuck I don't remember my grandmother's funeral?"

"Your... What?" Tanner stood up, "your grandmother is very much alive." He stressed his words and my eyes widened.

"But Mr Wembley, he said that she passed away."

"Oh for the love of God, she's alive."

"Then why would he-"

"We need to leave in two hours-" Nikolai walked in the room speaking and cutting me off. He looked up and noticed my face, "are you okay?" He rushed towards me.

"Mr Wembley lied about my grandmother's death, but I have no clue why also who the fuck did he bury if Dorian was alive?"

"Maybe he is hiding something?" Dorian added, "I mean he did stop seeing me after he found out who I was."

"What if he just doesn't want you to find out about him and... Well, our mother?" Nikolai said and I thought about it.

"It could be it, but I think I am missing something very important that shouldn't be missed." I said own with my head in my hands, "I don't understand."

"Kiara, don't stress yourself out, you already have plenty on your plate."

"Exactly." Dorian said and moved forward, "let me make you some tea, hope it still mellows you down."

I looked at him and he smiled down at me. It was good to know that he remembered things that I didn't remember, it was not about the tea it was about him knew it would calm my senses.

I caught Nikolai eyeing Dorian but he averted his eyes as soon as he realised that I was watching him, "can I talk to you for a moment?" He asked and I nodded. We both noticed how Dorian looked up when he heard about it, "don't worry I just want to give her some things that she might need later." He said to Dorian and he smiled.
