Nat was the first to wake the next day. She lay with Wanda, just enjoying the feeling of being with her. They lay together for a while until Nat felt like she was going to throw up again.
"Wa.. Wawa?" She poked Wanda's face trying to get her to wake up. "W..." she tried again but instead she could feel her stomach rumble, she leaned over to the other side of the bed and started to throw up.
"Nat!" Wanda woke up and saw what was going on. "It's okay, it's okay baby it's alright..." she said running Nats back and holding her hair out the way. "I-I s-sowwy... I b-bad w-wawa!" She cried. (I sorry wanda... I bad Wanda)
Wanda shook her head and picked Nat up, cradling her in her arms. "It's okay baby girl, it's okay. You don't need to be sorry. Your not bad I promise okay?" Wanda assured. Nat nodded and Wanda waited until she had calmed down before changing the bedsheets and taking Nat to the sitting room and putting on some cartoons.
The poor little sat cuddled into Wanda, sniffling and hiccuping every now and then. Nat wanted to stay in Wanda's arms forever, they were safe and made her feel at home. Wanda could feel Nat start to shiver and she gently felt her head.
"Oh honey... your fevers getting worse." Wanda told Nat with a sympathetic look on her face. "Come on, let's get some medicine. That might help?" She starts to stand up but Nat grabbed onto her. "No wawa!" Nat started to cry, Wanda quickly picked her up and cradled her. "It's okay, I'm right here okay? It's okay..." Wanda reassured her.
Wanda carries Nat over to the kitchen and places her on the counter. She takes the medicine and pours it into the spoon. "Here you go" she holds it infront of Nat's mouth but nat doesn't open. "Nat? Can you open your mouth please?" She shakes her head and looks at the medicine worriedly. "What's wrong honey? It's going to help your fever and tummy... you don't want to feel better?" She asks.
"Jus'... don wan... yucky!" She says looking at it, furrowing her eyebrows. "Please can you have it? It's not yucky... it's strawberry flavour." She looks at the spoon, sceptical.
"Weally?" Nat asks
(Really?)"Yes really, try it" Nat's mouth slowly opened and she took the medicine. She swallowed it and nodded her head.
"Wawa, 'ot 'ad. 'till yucky!" She said giggling.
(Wanda, not bad. Still yucky!)They went back to Wanda's room and lay down. Nat was starting to get tired and Wanda wanted to make sure she was getting enough sleep to help her feel better. She watched as Nat's eyes slowly closed while she lay in her arms. She gently kissed Nat's head before getting up and leaving her be.
Wanda got to work as she needed to go through some files to send to fury but hadn't gotten round to doing it yet. Suddenly wanda heard a scream. It was Nat.
She ran to Nat's room and found her backed away into the corner shaking and crying. "NO! WAN MAMA!" She yelled through her sobs. "Honey it's okay. Come here I'm right here," she said making her way towards the girl. "Mama!" She cried holding out her arms.
Wanda picked her up and rocked on her heels a bit to calm nat down. "It's okay, mamas here..." she said. Suddenly she realised Nat had called her mama. Nat had called her mama! She was ecstatic but made sure to focus on calming Nat down.
"It's okay bunny, don't cry pretty girl. It's okay" she said hugging her and rubbing circles on her back.
Nat eventually stopped crying and Wanda pulled away from her. "Do you want to talk about what made you upset?" She asked the little. "I..." Nat started and her eyes filled with tears. "It's okay, it's okay... you don't have to if you don't want to," Wanda rubbed her back and held her close.
"Sowwy..." Nat said quietly. "What for bunny? You didn't do anything wrong." Wanda responded. "Call 'ou mama..."( Call you mama...) she said, her bottom lip starting to tremble. "Oh honey it's okay, I don't mind. You can call me whatever you want to okay?" Wanda assured her. "Mama?" She asked looking up at her and Wanda smiled. "Yes my love?" She responded and nat felt her cheeks go pink as she let out a smile.
"Why don't we go get a snack, will that help you feel better?" Wanda asked. Nat nodded and sniffled before smiling. Wanda smiled and stood up, keeping Nat on her hip.
As they walked into the kitchen they saw Tony and Clint talking. Nat lay her head on Wanda's shoulder, not bothering to hide from the two avengers. "What would you like bunny?" Wanda asked. Nat shrugged and looked around. "Mama, 'oons?" She asked. Wanda
(Mama, toons?)
chuckled and nodded. "Sure baby girl"They sat together and watched 'toons' as Nat called them. Nat giggled along to the tv and Wanda beamed at her baby girl, enjoying seeing her happy and carefree.
After a while Nat started to feel very tired, she tried so hard to stay awake but Wanda could see her eyes slowly closing every now and then. "Baby girl..." Nat looked at her mama. Her mama! "You ready for a nap?" Wanda asked and Nat thought. She was very tired but really wanted to watch cartoons. "Mama... toons!" She said with a pout.
"You can watch cartoons after your nap, come on. Your very tired!" She said chuckling. Nat nodded and held her arms out to be picked up. They both made there way to Wanda's room and lay down. Nat stayed as close to Wanda as she could.
They both fell asleep in each others arms, both of them enjoying the others comfort. Nat had never felt so safe with someone and Wanda had never felt so protective and had so much love for someone before.
