Counting down

It was finally December and Christmas was on its way! Both Nat and Wanda were excited about Christmas. Nat couldn't wait and would talk to her mama all day about presents and Santa and his reindeer. Wanda couldn't wait to see the look on her baby's face when she opens her presents. She may have spoiled her baby a little bit but Nat deserved it all, she was the best baby girl anyone could ever have.

Thankfully Nat was only sick for a few days and was okay after that. Wanda was happy her baby was better and they could get ready for Christmas. "Hey baby... it's time to wake up..." Wanda said gently trying to wake Nat up from her nap.

"No mama! S'eep." She whined closing her eyes and putting her pacifier that had once fallen from her mouth back between her lips, sucking on it contently.

"Come on baby... it's time for your snack..." Nat  whined but nodded and held her arms out. "Thank you grumpy girl." They both went to the kitchen and Wanda sat Nat down on the counter. "No mama!" She whined and held her arms out. "Col' mama, up!" (Cold mama, up!)

Wanda picked her up and sighed. "Baby you gotta cooperate with mama. She's tired too and needs to get you a snack before we can do anything together, okay?" Nat whined and hid her face in Wanda's neck.

"What if I put on a show for you?" Wanda tried to compromise. "No mama! 'tay wif 'ou!" (No mama! Stay with you!) She started to cry and Wanda nodded. "Baby what's going on?" Wanda asked, although her baby was clingy it never had gotten this bad.

"'Tay wif mama!" (Stay with mama!) She gripped on tighter to Wanda's neck and started sobbing. "Okay, you can stay with mama. It's okay babygirl, mama is right here with you. Did you have a bad dream?" Wanda asked and Nat shook her head. "Are you lying?" Wanda asked and Nat didn't respond.

"Baby you can always tell me when you have a bad dream... it's okay... nobody is taking you away from me." Wanda assured the tiny girl.

Even though it had been a few months since 'the incident' Nat was still struggling to put on weight. Wanda hadn't started taking the lactation pills either after Nats doctor suggested to get her onto a proper diet beforehand so they didn't rely on her milk for nutrition or to replace meals.

Wanda agreed and since Nats diet was getting better she was going to start them soon after a checkup with Nats doctor just to make sure. She really hoped she could nurse soon with her baby, she thought it would be beneficial to Nat, it could take away her anxieties and fears. It would help them get closer, there were so many positives of nursing she could go on for hours.

She got Nat a snack and as they ate they talked about Christmas.

"What are you wanting for Christmas babygirl?" Wanda asked and Nat smiled.

"I wan' mama say and tuddles wif mama." (I want mama stay and cuddles with mama.) she replied with a smile and Wanda smiled and her heart swelled at her baby's kind words.

"What else? You want some presents from Santa?" Nat gasped and nodded. "Mama tan Santa bwing me stuf aminal? An... tampowine?" (Mama can Santa bring me stuffed animal? And... trampoline?) she said with a huge smile and Wanda chuckled at her baby's happiness. "I will ask him okay?" Nat nodded and smiled contently.

"Babygirl?" Wanda said and Nat looked at her with a sticky face and fingers. "Hi baby," she said smiling at her messy little. "Hi mama!" She said grinning. "Let's get you cleaned up, Kay? Then we can go see the nice doctor we saw a little bit ago. You remember?" Wanda asked picking Nat up and taking her to the bathroom.

"Yup! Doctow Kate." (Yup! Doctor Kate.) Nat responded and Wanda nodded and started running Nat a bath. "She is going to give you a checkup and then you might be able to have mamas milk. You wanna do that?" Wanda asked and Nat nodded very enthusiastically.
