Wanda made her way down to Clint and Laura. She heard them both talking in the kitchen so went in there straight away.
"Hey Im sorry about earlier I-" Wanda tried to explain but she was instantly cut off by Clint. "Hey, it's okay. We know Nat gets funny about being little in front of people."
"And she wasn't expecting to wake up in my arms, it's totally okay. I should've known better, I'm sorry." Laura carried on.
Wanda smiled and shook her head, "You don't need to be sorry, it wasn't your fault. She's having her nap now, I was thinking if she woke up little we could take her to see the animals?" Wanda said, hopefully. She didn't want to go and see the animals if Clint and Laura had any problems with it.
"Of course! It might be a bit muddy so I would put on clothes you don't mind getting dirty." Laura said and Clint nodded in agreement, smiling. "I think she'll enjoy the animals. Big Nat loves animals a lot, so I assume little Nat will adore and cherish every single one of them. She's cute like that."
Wanda chucked, nodding in agreement. "Yeah, she does talk about animals a lot actually." Wanda says, thinking about all the conversations they would have about animals when she was little. Whether it was about what noises they made or what they looked like, the topic came up a lot.
"Thank you guys for being understanding and everything with Nat, I know it can be frustrating sometimes to have a friend not open up and everything but you've always been there for Nat." Wanda said, knowing how both adults would be there for her. "Always, Nat is one of the best people I know." Laura said smiling and Wanda nodded, remembering a conversation she had with Nat a few weeks ago...
"Mama!" Nat exclaimed excitedly. She had gone for a nap and expected to wake up without Wanda but was pleasantly surprised when she saw Wanda sat at her desk. "Hey babygirl!" Wanda said, going to pick Nat up.
"What would my baby like to do this afternoon?" She asked, already knowing her answer. "Toons! We wa'ch toons mama?" Nat asked, wanting to watch her favourite shows.
"Hmm... let me think..." Wanda said, putting on a thinking face. "P'ease mama?" Nat asked sweetly. Her mama never really said no to her anyway but there was always a possibility.
"Okay, we can watch cartoons." Wanda said making Nat smile and cheer. "Yay! T'ank 'ou mama!" Nat kissed Wanda's cheek and got comfy with her mama on the bed.
"Mama... 'aura." She said, pointing to the tv. "What?" Wanda asked gently, unsure of what Nat meant. "Is 'aura." She said again, pointing to the tv. "'aura is 'ice an' kind an' 'entwle." Nat said, pointing to the friendly character on the tv.
"It's Laura?" She said, making sure she was getting it right. Nat nodded her head and went back to watching the tv. Wanda however took a few seconds before completely melting. Nat thought Laura was kind and gentle and nice, she was right of course but she knew Laura would love to know that one day when little Nat is brave enough.
"I think you should tell Laura those things, it would make her really happy." Wanda said, kissing her baby's head. "Okay mama." She said, not thinking much of it. Wanda nodded and hoped Nat would keep her word.
Wanda decided to go back upstairs to check on Nat. When she did she saw her sprawled out on the bed, tugging slightly on her paci. It was the cutest sight, Wanda had to take a picture. So she did, she took about 50 photos of Nat sleeping before Nat woke up.
"Mama..." Nat called out, wanting her mama to cuddle her. She was sleepy and just wanted mama cuddles. "Hey baby... are you okay?" Wanda asked. Nat reached for her and Wanda pulled Nat up from the bed, checking her diaper as she did so. Her diaper was dry so she didn't need to change it.
Nat started to pull on her mamas shirt, only wanting one thing right now. "Are you okay my love?" Wanda asked, gently taking and holding the hand Nat was using to pull her shirt. "Mama..." Nat whined. She just wanted to nurse, that was it. Why didn't her mama get it?
"Can you tell me what you want?" Wanda asked, wanting to hear her babys voice. "Mama milkies p'ease." Nat said with a pout on her face. Wanda smiled and nodded, undoing her bra and lifting her shirt up, letting Nat latch on. "Thank you for using your words to tell mama what you want. My polite babygirl."
It only took about ten minutes for Nat to be finished and when she was she was almost asleep again. "You feeling tired baby?" Wanda asked and Nat nodded, feeling extremely tired. "Did you sleep bad last night?" Wanda asked gently. She didn't want Nat staying up late and having extra naps, she needed a routine to keep her mental health good.
"Mhmm... I s'eep wif mama..." she mumbled and Wanda nodded and chuckled. "Yeah you slept with mama..." Nat mumbled again. "S'eep wif mama 'ow..."
"Okay, sleep with mama now..." Wanda said, looking at the state of Nat. She didn't want her baby to be tired and grumpy and something seemed off with Nat. As much as she wanted to stay awake she always seemed to be sleeping.
Wanda knew there would be no point talking to her now, but she made a mental note to talk about it later.
Wanda carefully lay Nat down on the bed, pulling off her clothes, trying not to disturb her. Wanda managed to start changing her now dirty diaper before Nat started to stir. "No..."
"It's just mama babygirl... your safe here my love, it's only mama." Wanda said softly, rubbing small circles on Nat's tummy. She fell back asleep pretty quickly and Wanda smiled, she loved her baby so much.
Once changed, Wanda very carefully carried Nat downstairs to the kitchen where Clint and Laura were. "Hey... I changed her but she's still sleepy. I don't think she's sleeping well at the moment." Wanda said quietly, not wanting to wake Nat up. "That's fine, we have all day to see the animals, we can always go tomorrow if that's easier for her. This trip is meant to help her mental health, you don't have to do anything or be rushed, take your time and do what's best for her. She needs and deserves it." Clint says, knowing how bad Nat's mental health could get at times.
"Thank you guys... your the best." Wanda said, thankful for her friends. "Anything for you two, your the cutest couple I've ever seen." Laura said, awing at Nat.
It only took Nat another twenty or so minutes of sleep before she started to stir again. "Hey Babygirl... can you open your pretty eyes for mama?" Wanda cooed, gently rubbing her back and pushing her hair out of her face. "'ired mama..." Nat mumbled, closing her eyes. "I know baby but we have something fun to do. Guess what we're gonna go see?" Wanda said, gently easing Nat out of her sleep. "what mama?"
"We're gonna go see the animals!" Wanda said gently but keeping the excitement in her voice. Nat gasped and was suddenly wide awake. "aminals mama?" She said, excited. "Yeah, Clint and Laura are gonna show us the animals!" Wanda said, knowing how happy her baby was going to be. "Go now?" Nat asked and Wanda nodded. "Only if your awake..." Wanda said, smiling. "I 'wake mama, go see aminals!" Nat said excitedly.
Wanda looked at the other two before all walking out to see all of the animals.
