Lesane felt bad. Janet wasn't saying a word. He took her to a store to grab her and Aliegha something to wear and he picked a pizza up before heading home. They all showered and winded down for the most part. Janet didn't even come out of Lesane's bedroom to eat which made him worry even more.
He cleaned up some things before taking Aliegha and Irie into Aaliyah's bedroom. Since she wasn't staying with him anymore, the bedroom was just there so it was perfect.
"We're homeless again." Aliegha sighed as she crawled under the covers. "Yall not homeless. This y'all home right here."
"No it's not."
Lesane sighed seeing he couldn't convince a already mind moved little girl.
"Listen, I understand you don't like me and I understand you're young but, you gotta give me a chance. Just one. You young; so what do I have to prove?" He asked with a scoff, "My mommy doesn't need a man. All the men end up the same way." She said before frowning.
"Well I'm not like them other ones. You gotta see my potential Lil' Mama. I'm good to your momma."
"Not from what I've heard." She simply said, "What have YOU heard?"
"I heard that you said something really mean to my mommy that hurt her feelings," She explained. Lesane knew exactly what she was talking about, "Aight, that one time. But we've settled it already. I've apologized to her." He brushed it off leaving her to look at him.
"Are you even my mommy's type? She's very picky." She spoke as if she knew her off the back of her hand leaving Lesane to burst into laughter.
"I hope I am. If not, I'm just a sitting duck, huh?" He asked and she nodded. He chuckled and stood up, "You a funny little girl, you know that?" He turned the lamp off and walked to the door.
"Wait, can you leave the hallway light on?" She asked. He nodded and left out; leaving the door cracked and the hallway light on. He walked to his bedroom and turned the light on. He couldn't tell if Janet was sleeping or not but, she was laying down with her eyes closed so he just went with the thought she was.
He shut the light back off and got in the bed beside her. He laid on his back and stared at the little bit of light that showed onto the ceiling from the window. All he heard was dogs and the same laughter from old heads.
Janet began to shift leaving him to look at her. She was saying something but he couldn't understand her. It was a murmur for the most part. He ignored it just because he didn't understand and continued to try to get himself to sleep. After a few minutes, he did as so.
_____I laughed as Lesane had me over his shoulder, "Put me down!" I yelled as he laughed also.
"Put her down!" Aliegah came and sprayed us both with the water gun making us laugh even harder. We fell into the grass as she continued. I haven't felt this good in a long time. Our laughs together made the happiness in me not wanna leave.
"You got me! You got me!" Lesane held his hands up surrendering as we sat in the grass. Our laughter dialed down and we got up. Lesane scooped Aliegha up making her laugh and myself as we walked to the front porch.
"Damn, we gotta get that chalk. We don't want no bad ass kids taking it."
I looked at the sidewalk, "I got it." I jogged off the porch and went to pick up the chalk off the sidewalk. Paying zero attention to my surroundings...
As I finished, I dusted my hands off before picking of the box and walking back.
POW POW
The very loud and sharp noise invaded my ears. I felt myself fall into the grass as a burning sensation filled my backside leaving me to be in shock. My body felt almost disabled. I felt as if I couldn't move but I felt someone touch me...
