Lesane
I pulled into Malone's spot and went inside. I just stared at all the big men that were standing around her.
"Back for more?" She smiled.
"No, actually, I need to talk to you about something." I sat down and made complete eye contact.
"Okay? What?"
"Malone, I can't do this anymore—"
"Lesane, you better not be walking out on me after I had an important thing for you to do."
"Well give it to O'Shea or someone because I'm done. I'm tryna get my life together, gotta get my life straight. I can't end up in jail again. That shit mentally tears a man apart." I explained.
"Who got you?"
"What?"
"Which on of these dirty hoes got you? was it Kidada?"
"No, what? I'm doing this for myself, not for nobody else." My forehead got wrinkled as I looked at her confused.
"I don't understand. You come out the blue saying you wanna get out? Lesane, you barely have money to provide for yourself, let alone provide for whatever girl got you. She got kids?"
"Look, Malone, I didn't come here for you to talk me out of not leaving. I'm letting you know right now, it ain't finna work. It might have worked for my momma and my father and O'Shea but that shit ain't gonna rub on me. Letting you know right now."
She looked at me blankly.
"Alright. You grown right? Your gonna get up and leave this office, right?"
"Right."
"Alright." She nodded and curled her lips. I scoffed and left.
1 thing done and a few more to go. I drove up to Compton where my mother lived. I haven't spoken to her in a while after our last incident.
"Lesane! I know damn well you ain't get that girl pregnant! You barely out of high school and you getting girls pregnant!" She yelled at me as I listened.
"Ma! Chill for a minute, alright!"
"Where the hell she gonna go? What food you gonna feed her? What BED is she gonna sleep in because I damn sure don't think your living here."
"You kicking me out? What happened to loving me through thick and thin!"
"That was before when you didn't have a child in the making!"
I pulled into her driveway and got out. I went onto her porch and hesitated on knocking until I heard someone walk from behind the house.
"Who you?" The male asked me.
"My name Amaru or Lesane. Afeni still live here?"
"Yeah, she back there planting. Come on."
I followed him into the back and she was sitting down. I thanked him and walked over.
