"Nah but you need to bring your ass on." I said through the phone.
"I said I was coming, damn. I gotta go pick up a family friend from work to show her that apartment." Marcus said as he rode to Lesane house.
"Ight. I just got finished getting dressed..." I slurred as Aaliyah walked out her room with a shirt well above her bellybutton.
"Ay, blow the horn when your here." I immediately hung the phone up and stared her.
"What?" She asked, Puzzled.
"What the hell are you wearing? Go change." I demanded
"No." She snapped back. I took a deep breath so I could control myself.
"Aaliyah, get in there and put another shirt on-" I was cut off by Marcus car horn.
"Your ride outside." She scoffed and walked to her room.
"You better change your shirt!"
"Fuck you!" She yelled back. I scoffed and went out the door and got into Marcus car
"Damn! When you get this?" I asked letting my finger graze the door.
"Man, I've been working." He said as he let the top down.
"Ah shit!" We laughed.
"We gotta go, That girl is impatient as hell." Marcus said as he backed out.
Janet
After dropping Aliegha off at camp and Nicky at his dad's, I went straight to work. I worked at my fathers law firm. Mostly managing phone calls and papers. I pulled into the parking lot and grabbed my purse and got out. I walked inside and greeted the secretary.
"Your father would like to see you." Rebecca said.
"Is it important?" I asked
"I'm not sure." She said. I nodded and walked over to his office. I walked inside and took a seat.
"We can talk later, Katherine." He hung the phone up and faced me.
"Hello, Joseph." I greeted him
"Hello to you, Janet." He sighed.
"Is there something wrong?" I asked
"Yes, Actually..Maggie dropped the case." He said
"What? Why?" I asked. This was one of our most important cases
"She was struggling, stressed, didn't know how to handle it." He explained
"Damn.." I said to myself.
"Is it that bad?" I asked
"Is it? All of my Senior workers won't even take up the case."
"Unless you take it up." He mumbled but I heard him loud and clear
