Chapter 32 Justin
With all of his memories back the amount of things Justin could do had increased , it had been five years since the dead of his father and it had also been that long since someone attack the town. Quality of life had greatly improve around here ,he had discovered that even omega could greatly evolve , there bite would still create zombies , but with time they could almost become as smart as beta , they were now even capable of being passive without having to remind them . The bond with the non infected had also deepen , they even had created a bond with another town , they always came armed but it was to be expected , life was peaceful around here , they had achieve possibly the best life they could hope for , there wasn't much to do ,but time flew faster when you were infected . With the omega now not needing surveillance, Justin had started once again to explore around the town to find omega ,the town didn't need any more infected , but the infected needed the town. He trusted Samantha with the town and went alone , it was easier now that he had experience , the zombie were distinct and he could with practice tell them apart . He decided to go out on an expedition , he didn't plan it but the weather was so nice he had to spend it on the wild .He know understood that the infected often went back to the wild life .They were very similar to a wolf pack , they moved together, omegas were a flagrant example of that , they would spend hour in group not growling , maybe it was the alpha in him, but he needed more , he had developped a taste for training newcomer , a taste for exploration . He left in the early morning
-Leaving again ,ask Sam
-You know me , early bird get the brain, answered Justin
-I got things here, just be carefull , you are the last alpha , she said
Justin didn't know how he felt about that , the fact that the only two other alpha he knew died was odd , he would have never thought of himself as a leader with those two around , but now that they were gone, he was the only possible choice . Fact is he hated that , he wanted to share the town with another leader , of course there was numerous , numerous beta but again they too were a victim of the pack mentality , they were capable of leading , of making decisions but wouldn't dare do it if he was anywhere in town. Justin had appreciate the fact that his word was law , it made thing easy but he couldn't keep the fact that he was perhaps wrong out of his head . Those reflection were recurrent in his exploration , all he had was thoughts .He had walked almost half a day , it was time to turn back .At the distance he saw an odd scene , there was a zombie but one thing was bizzarre, he was standing still , was it an omega , the zombie appearance showed one thing , but his action showed another thing . A thought came to Jay , he hadn't seen a zombie in what, at least six month , they were either in the big city or they had been killed . It was a odd situation in his quest of becoming a better leader he had follow a zombie heading into town , what he had saw was a puzzle , a quick look into the crowd did nothing to explain the situation , they were all zombie maybe one or two beta but they were just in the center of the town waiting, waiting for something Jay wondered what it was .Here was another question, the zombie he saw was defying all law , maybe he was hurt , he was alone and the zombie could be stronger than him. He approach his enemy slowly , taking no risk . The zombie wasn't injured or nothing , he was just standing around , Justin tried multiple time to communicate but no answer . He would have stayed and studied the anomaly but time was pressing , he started to head home . On his way ,he got lost in his own reflection, it was possible that the zombie too had evolve , maybe the infection grew weaker with time , he doubted that a beta could have convince a zombie to wait they were too hard to control .An alpha could off possibly manage to control a zombie , but if another alpha existed they would have crossed path , he had almost all of the surrounding explored , if another alpha was alive it would have to be somewhere , theyre was next to no chance that in the last five years of exploring they wouldn't have met somehow or somewhere . When he arrived at the town , Samantha was at the entrance , it was almost as if she was waiting for him.-
-You are finally here , said Sam
-You wont believe what I saw , Started the alpha
-It can wait someone is waiting for you , she said nervously
He wondered who it could be and why was it urgent .Sam was looking nervous what was going on . He followed her to the house they both lived in . There , he saw an infected , judging by it physical appearance it was a beta , but he never saw her before .
-Hi im Jay, im in charge of this place , he told her
- So there is an alpha how interesting , she answered
There was something different about this one he thought something on how she talk made him suspicious
-Yes that is me , its nice to meet you , we have a community were the infected are given a second chance at life , he told her not sure why she was there
She laugh .
-I didn't think you would invite me , she said im here to represent the queen.
Jay was confuse , he had never heard of this "queen"
-This queen that you mention , Im guessing you guys have a town and id be happy to merge our community
She laugh even louder , Jay saw Sam getting angry , the situation would soon be under control , this infected called queen was surely an alpha . The question was what did she want and if it would affect them .
-The queen isn't interest in your town , she is interest by the people living inside , she offer an invitation to join, of course you will have to surrender all authority to her , if you are interested, meet her in the center of the city .
The center of the city , but it was full of zombie , she could controlled
-I think I will refuse , I am grateful for the invitation but I cant force my people to leave this town as I have promise them a haven , said Jay
-The queen doesn't need an alpha ,as for your people they will most likely follow her without a second thought , but don't worry I don't need an answer now I just need you to think about it .
She turn and left
-Wait, said Jay ,the huge group of zombie ,if they follow your leader , the city is dangerous we can offer you safety
She looked at him surprised
-You cant get zombies to obey , that's odd , that army of zombie you mentioned ,they follow the queen . This is her world and you will only get one invitation
