Epilogue Parker
Ten years , it had been ten years since there trip to the city . So much had changed , so much had been lost .It was apparent as he looked around Ridgeway had been improved immensely , there number had been reduce by more than half . At the end of the war, life in the community had been hard , they had merge the two community , they had no choice even together they were barely two-hundred . Poor Thomaz was the only leader that had survived . People were constantly fighting , the Ridgeway people having to share what ever they had with the militant town . But as years went by people got use to each other ,even the kid were now working to better the town , to help in the survival effort . When Thomaz was too old to govern , they looked at him to take the lead , after being asked multiple time , he finally accepted .Thank god for Chrissie , she was his advisor and her military background really helped . They mainly live on what the land would provide , they now had a major zombie problem , he had been through Pezzie journal , her explanation made little sense but what did nowaday? If he believed what she wrote , the recent well more like decade old problem ,was that no one could lead the zombie a good number of them returned to Zombieland ,but most of them were just walking around in the outskirt . He got up and walk to the church it was the anniversary of the fusion of the town and he wanted to do a small speech , its use to be a much bigger deal when the merge happened but now ,it was more of a tradition then anything . He marched through the town .
People waving at him,they were probably excited about today,it was one of the perk of allp those headaches . Pezzie had told him that she never got used to these , he had managed to spend the whole day without thinking of her , he would have given everything to be back the way it was . He finally arrived at the church where everyone was waiting for him . Seeing everyone there , brought warmth to his heart , there was few people but they were survivor , every single one of them had in one way or another proved to be a valuable member of the society .Parker had written on a paper a speech but he changed his mind
- Brother and sister , today i see proud people , i remember Thomaz making the best bread , I remember Rebecca being always one of the first to get up . What i am trying to say is that it might be the post apocalypse , that behind these wall there ten zombie to one of us , but i wouldn't choose anyone else to be in this town with , you are all my family and its thanks to all of you that i wake up with a smile .
The crowd was cheering , Thomaz gave him a wink ,old man was proud , Chrissie got up to scream to go eat . They sat around and laugh , they told story , it was a spectacle and Parker was enjoying all of it , there was a lot wrong going on but at this point in time he didnt care .
After that they had a soccer game he had love the idea from Pezzie for communal activity . He waited a bit before heading to the town gate , he had one more thing to do before ending this perfect day .
