Moments earlier
"I DON'T CARE IF YOU REMARRIED I DON'T CARE WHO SHE IS... I DO NOT CARE!" Mei was still outside hearing the conversation.. after she heard Yuzu say that.. her will shattered.. mind blank.. heart crushed.. desire to live vanished.. she walked her way to the living room. to her right, the apartment window. to her left, the kitchen.. her head kept moving from right to left all while her eyes are kept dead on the floor not seeing not hearing not feeling anything else
all that filled her mind right now was how to finally do her last action and end her miserable pathetic life
"I just want to die" is what her mouth keeps saying
right now Mei is not feeling anything. she fell unconscious while her suicidal mind and body took control and she actually doesn't matter
she made her way to the kitchen but stopped mid way "I don't want to spend more time living, good old knife is too slow for me"
what is the fastest way to die.. oh yes.. the beloved window.. this door to fresh air and beautiful sky.. a good way to die
"I just want to die" her mouth said while her mind kept repeating "nothing matters anymore"
she changed course to the window painfully slow.. her eyes to the ground not seeing anything but water.. hair covering her desperate face.. hand in the air in anticipation to hold the handle and open the door to a whole new life...
"Mei" a voice called to her... "Mei" again... "Mei" and again
a familiar sweet scent filled the place around her
but...
Mei was not there.. she is currently laying down under a tree with her head on a certain blonde's lap sharing a caring loving kiss with the nice autumn breeze
what was there is a mind that refuses to listen and nothing matters to him anymore, a mouth that wants to die, and a body that's ready to jump through the opened window
she is now standing before the window ready to make the final move.
running footsteps were heard around the apartment and a hand grabbed her and gave her a familiar warm hug that she for Five years have longed for
"don't!"
she fell backward with a body above her and Mei finally woke up to the same lips she was just dreaming about locked to hers
shock filled Mei's face as all she saw was blonde hair with closed eyes holding her tightly and lips that were kissing her
Mei gave in and tried to kiss back but..there wasn't any motion from the blonde's lips... this isn't a kiss or at least it was
it's like she initiated the kiss but froze in this position and now Mei can't breathe. she pushed her and thought she would struggle but Yuzu was easily pushed away
Yuzu fell unconscious... again.
Mei, fully awake and aware of everything.. looked around and realized what she was about to do.. and what Yuzu did... moments ago she didn't care about Mei and now she saved her from her demise
Mei once again cried.
Ume tried to follow Yuzu, but Yuzu was so fast that she reached Mei while Ume just got out of the room
once she arrived at the scene she found Mei crying her head to the ground and Yuzu laying down beside her and... an open window
she obviously got the right idea of what happened.. yeah.. Yuzu saying she just want to die then storming out of the room.. an open window.. and a crying Mei.... yeah connecting the dots was easy.. and the fainting ?.. it happens all the time, right?
she was about to say something but Mei cut her
"s-sorry" Mei said while crying
"I'm the one who is sorry Mei you shouldn't be you saved her" Ume said looking at Yuzu
"sh-she s-saved me... I'm so sorry"
realization shocked Ume "oh, so this is it.. after all these years... but not now she needs to do it herself or the outcome won't be good.. talk about coincidence"
she reached Mei and moved some hair away from her face and caressed her cheeks wiping tears with her hand
"tell you what.. how about I put Yuzu in bed to rest.. and you sleep in your mother's embrace, I'm sure you will need it it has been a tiring long day and I promise tomorrow will be better"
Mei weakly nodded and Ume took Yuzu to bed and went to her own room to find Mei sitting on the bed.. she switched off the lights and got in bed "come on Mei I'm sure you will like it.. a mother's embrace is the most calming feeling" she pulled Mei toward her and hugged her from behind laying her down "just relax and try to sleep" and wrapped her arms around Mei
Ume was a great person and a great mother.. she knew when a person is in a mental breakdown the best thing to do is calm that person down and then talk about the situation.. and the best way to calm her daughter ?.. sleep with her in a caring warm hug
"Tomorrow will be better" Mei thought while closing her eyes and eventually drifted off to sleep.
