"LET THEM TRY" Yuzu said disappearing into the sky as thunder sounds were heard
"this girl" Ume facepalmed and sighed before turning around to face Harumin and Matsuri "you two should go now"
"and leave her alone!?" Harumin asked surprised about Ume's calm behavior
"she will have back up trust me" Ume said taking out her phone and looking for a number "go now" she said looking at them
"right.. let's go Matsuri" Harumin took Matsuri's hand and left
Ume dialed the number and waited.. "hi auntie.."
"hey, are you ready ?" Ume said sitting down
"Always, just tell me what to do"
"Yuzu decided to go grab a friend alone so I need you beside her"
"is she really serious! doesn't she know the dangers ?"
"she knows but she does know how powerful she can get the problem is she has just awakened and overconfident... I will send you the location"
"don't worry auntie I will bring her safe" the other person said ending the call
"Who is this?" Sho asked
"We aren't alone in this place there are people who I put in charge of keeping it safe and prepared for us" Ume said looking out the window
"How is this place protected exactly and why aren't you helping them ?"
Ume sighed "there's a magical barrier around the place and only who I want to cross it can do.. and I'm helping by keeping you both safe"
"right.. sorry" Sho said "I should check up on Mei" he walked to the room door but stopped before entering and looked at Ume "hey Ume..."
"yes" she said looking at him
"thank you for doing this" he said smiling at her
Ume smiled and nodded at him then turned to look outside again. Sho opened the door and entered finding a sleeping Mei.. he took a chair and sat beside the bed. he took Mei's hand and sighed "hey Mei.. I hope you can hear me.. I.. I'm really really sorry for what I did and for what you have been through.. it's just.. I couldn't stay or you would be in danger" he teared up and continued "I did everything I could to protect you and how I wish I could be by your side.. believe me it was so hard for me leaving you as it was for you.. forgive me my daughter" he continued to cry until he felt his hand get squeezed "huh! Mei ?"
"you know.." Mei said opening her eyes "that's the most genuine thing I heard in years" she said sitting up in bed but keeping a calm cold face. Sho smiled and attempted to hug her but found Mei's hand stopping him "sorry father.. I do forgive you but please I need some time" she looked at her left hand and found her bear holding a paper between his arms "where's Yuzu ?"
"she went somewhere but come ask her mother she will explain better" Sho said getting up and walking to the door "I'm really sorry Mei.. I hope one day I will be the father you wish for" he opened the door and walked out.
Mei looked at the paper and unfolded it reading what's inside "I will go grab our precious little friend, I will come back in no time".. "Yuzu" Mei said understanding she went to get Himeko.. she got up and walked outside the room to find Ume.. she saw her standing before the window and looking outside
"beautiful weather today eh ?" Ume asked still looking outside
"It seems so, mo-" Mei stopped talking as she was confused about how to address the woman now
"you can call me anything sweetie" Ume said looking at Mei and smiling warmly
"c-can I still call you m-mother ?" Mei stuttered feeling embarrassed to ask
"of course" Ume said and sat down "come here" she patted the place beside her.
Mei sat down "I... I'm s-sorry for earlier I didn't mean to"
"oh don't worry"
"why did Yuzu go to Himeko ?"
"Just to be safe we thought we should protect the people dear to you so Yuzu will get Himeko and Harumin and Matsuri will get your grandfather is there anyone else ?"
"n-no I don't think so wait!... did you say Yuzu went out.. alone !" Mei said concerned about Yuzu
"yes.. but don't worry she will be fine"
"oh I'm sorry but the way you described it there's a whole army after her so how are you so sure?"
"don't worry I sent back up after her and she will come back to you in no time" Ume said patting Mei's head
Meanwhile...
Yuzu reached Himeko's house and entered through the open window "HImeko" Yuzu thought as she saw the little figure of her friend
"hi my name is Yuzu what's yours"
"H-Himeko.."
"nice name Himeko but I will call you Hime is this ok"
"it's n-nice"
"Hime come play with us!"
"I love your hair Hime"
"you're so cute"
"Who are you!" Himeko exclaimed as she saw a tall figure standing in the dark
"you know... your hair looks cuter when it's down. Hime" Yuzu said taking a step forward
"Y-Yuzu!?" Himeko's eyes widen
"yeah... I missed you too Hime" Yuzu smiled at her friend and hugged her
"what.. are you doing here ?" Himeko said returning the hug
"long story short-" Yuzu got interrupted by the sound of the door opening
"hey Himeko are you talking to som-" a woman entered the room to find a strange girl hugging her daughter
"uuh... Himeko ?" the woman said
"m-mother!"
"who-" suddenly the sound of shattered glass and Yuzu forming a shield around them interrupted the moment and several individuals entered the room
"Yuzuko, surrender yourself and we will spare-" the man who was pointing a sword at Yuzu couldn't complete his sentence as blood was flooding from his neck.
Yuzu who was holding her hands behind her back now holding a bloody sword with her right hand then looked at them "who's next ?" she said as her hair darkened and her right eye turned red.. two men proceeded to attack but suddenly another sword appeared at Yuzu's left hand then blocked one attack while dodging the other and with one move she cut their necks. Yuzu one after another, she killed as many as she could while Himeko watched her childhood friend being ruthless and killing everyone.. she saw someone who was down picking a sword and standing behind Yuzu ready to strike her "YUZU WATCH OUT!" Himeko exclaimed as the man attacked but suddenly a knife came out of nowhere and landed on the man's head killing him immediately
"Well well well... if it isn't my favorite cousin" a white-haired girl said entering the room
Yuzu smirked remembering her old days with her cousin "long time no see, Shai"
