thank you for joining Dorothea's journey to freedom and peace.

i started this story with a vague plot. i think it's because i want to it to be character-centered. a part of me thinks that i achieved it towards the end. i really hope i did.

please tell me your favorite scene, or part of the story, or any feedback that you have about the novel. i would love to hear them <3

the idea of the story itself-- Dorothea's struggle and character-- is actually inspired from real life. it always makes me wonder what it's like to be in the spotlight, to be burn and witchhunted without being heard. i could only imagine how hard is that. and i hope that thru this novel, we'd learn how to listen. we'd learn when to shut up and hear out the truth first. or maybe, you don't actually have to hear the truth if you're not involved. the best thing wecould do is to be silent than to throw hurtful words.

i never planned nor expected to write this. the narration is just so different from what i used to write. the voice is based on Dorothea's voice itself rather mine, and it's one of the best things that i've learned while writing it. it truly serves as an experimental story for me to improve as a writer.

although i feel like this is one of my weakest in terms of romance, i am still satisfied with everything; with every relationship that Dorothea had built, not only romantically, but also to her family and to the three of them.

to you who's reading this, thank you so much for reading it until the end. i hope that like Dorothea, you'd find freedom; away from the chains and labels of society.

love, zi
