Avni starred at the man who towered over her, this was one of the few times she hated being 5'5, his eyes dark even threatening. Vidhyut Pandit can be a lot scary when he waned, she was trying her best to be not be intimidated, letting someone know you are intimidated by them was first step towards losing. She bit inside of her cheeks.

"Why did you dragged me here?" She questioned, her words firm, as she looked at him, Vidhyut eyes didn't waver from her face. "Because you need to answer my few questions," he shrugged, Avni furrowed her eyebrows.

"Why would I do that?"

"Because you don't have an option," he pointed out, signalling towards the locked door against which he was leaning.

"So now that we have established, we will be staying here till you answer my few harmless questions, let's get on it?"

Avni didn't answer staring at him blankly, questions? What was going on in his mind? She knew Vidhyut as the mind of it group, he was tricky, manipulative and clean everything required to be a good businessman, that was probably the reason he owned the biggest share after Neil in the Phoenix Industry.

"What happened between you and Neil?" He asked, Avni looked at her frowning.

"Nothing," she shorty answered, Vidhyut sighed, "Don't you think this will be easier if you cooperated?"

Avni scoffed, "Nothing happened." She repeated now more firmly, her teeth grinding together, she hated when she didn't have the upper hand at a situation she was in.

"So what could be the reason behind now Neil being extra snappier and asshole?" He asked, his word choices sleek, "Maybe your company?" Avni offered making his face twist in a glare.

"Avni you are making this difficult,"

"No I'm not Vidhyut Pandit, you are the one who made this difficult, who do you think you are locking me up with you in a room and then questioning me about your friend being snappier?" She fumed, glaring. Vidhyut raised his eyebrows.

"Would you have answered me otherwise?"

"Surprisingly yes."

"Than I apologise." he declared and opened the door Avni looked at him frowning, he glanced ahead at the opened door.

"We had a row." she answers him after stepping out of the room, Vidhyut doesn't question that any further.

"You fucked up?" He asked, she rolled her eyes nodding, he had a thoughtful look on his face, "So how are you saying sorry to him?"

"I have something planned are you willing to help?" She questioned leaning against the door frame, his eyes scanned her face, "Till it ends up fixing his attitude I'm in."

She smiled, step one getting one of his friends to help done.

Avni stared at her phone, it was time for step two, she graces her fingers over Ali's contact number. She needed to talk to him before meeting Neil and talking to him, she hoped Ali didn't hate her. He was the first person who knew about everything.

She clicked on call, the rings went, "Avni?" Ali's soft, homely voice filled her senses, she wiped her tears, "Hey?" She answered, she heard a slight sob from other side.

"Why would you leave?" His voice broke, Avni covered her eyes to stop her tears, she was glad she was in her room during one of the most vulnerable moments of her.

"Because you deserved going in college you worked hard for." she answered tracing the flower design of her bedsheet.

"You are more important that a pretentious college Avni, you always have been." he muttered, Avni closed her eyes and laid down on her bed, staring at the ceiling.

"I know but it was time you put yourself first, Nano put herself first." she confessed, "That was not your choice to make." his voice seemed angry, Avni smiled.

"It was the needed choice, Ali."

The line went quiet she could hear Ali's breathing, it was a soft sound slightly irregular but soothing. This was why she loved her and Ali's dynamic they preferred not speaking when they were angry knowing they would hurt each other

"Why did you call?"

"I think I'm ready to talk to more people about it." she sighed, there was slightly cursing from his side, "Did someone force you to speak?" He asked, "Are you okay? Is it your father?"

"Nobody forced me, Ali. I think it's time I let some people in, let some people see how ugly my life had been." She told her best friend, she could practically see his frenzied eyes as she closed her eyes.

"I found someone," she continued, "I knew him when I was a kid, he was my closest friend, I left this place when he was at the tough place after promising him I would be there for him," she breathed, she knew Ali was listening.

"In my childhood diary, I have written many praises for him but I can't remember him now and you know why, I want to be open with him, I want to trust him, I want to apologise for forgetting him and screwing things between us repeatedly,"

"You know he still has the things we exchanged in our childhood, he. . .he was willing to try again even after being hurt by me, even after knowing that I didn't remember anything, he was ready to try friendship thing again."

"I hated him in beginning, he was an asshole, he still is but he is so much more under that, I don't think I know him, far from it but I think I wanna give him the same effort he has given me without me realising." She completed, she didn't even realise she had spoken so much.

"Avni I think you have bigger realisations coming for you," Ali chuckled, Avni frowned, "Bigger realisation?"

"Go ahead Avni, talk to him, he sounds like a good guy, a guy I would trust you with," he told her, his voice soft.

"Thank you."

"Do you think I should visit you someday?" Ali asked, Avni thought about it, "I think you should," she answered, smiling softly.

"Your wish is my command," he declared from other side making her giggle slightly.

The phone call was cut short when Ali confessed that he was at the cafe and there was a lot of customers. She had let him go with a promise to call him after she had talked to Neil.

Now all she had to do was to wait for tomorrow evening.
