Katsuki never wanted to marry (Y/N).

Not when he was forced to break up with his long-term girlfriend to do it.

You see, his parents and (Y/N)'s had been close and arranged for them both to be wed when they were older, seeing that they both seemed madly in love at the age of 4.

Over the years the two distanced themselves from each other. They didn't go to the same middle school and only saw each other again at U.A, where

Both had changed and Katsuki didn't even remember her. He had a girlfriend he wanted to marry, but a deal was a deal. Especially when there's a contract involved.

Katsuki resented (Y/N) for being so submissive to her father and not putting up a fight. She just went along with whatever he said and agreed to the marriage while he argued but couldn't get out of it.

He blamed her for everything. For making him unhappy. For making him lose his lover. For making his world go upside down.

She never said a word whenever he was angry at her. Always listening and never talking back. She never once made a comment or showed her feelings.

While Katsuki had forgotten her, she never did. Her love for him never faded and she waited for the day when she'd be married to him.

She regretted it as soon as he began to yell at her and blame her for what happened.

It wasn't her fault, but he didn't see it that way.

Every day she'd cry, wishing for him to love her. That maybe if she was the best wife she could be, he'd be happy.

She took everything he threw at her and stayed strong.

Yet, it was breaking her.

(Y/N) tried to keep going, but one day, she'd had enough.

She didn't want to cry anymore. She was tired of him being cold to her, and never being the husband she always wanted.

Her friend was a lawyer, and after talking with her, they agreed to send him the papers to end their marriage.

"(Y/N)?" Katsuki called out as he opened the door.

It was quiet.

Usually, he'd hear soft humming coming from the kitchen and was met with the smell of food.

Katsuki put his bag down, the divorce papers he had received at his office still in his hands.

He rushed home as soon as he was handed them, unsure if she was still going to be there when he arrived.

Hearing some shuffling from the bedroom, Katsuki walked towards it, hoping it was his wife.

"(Y/N)...," he sighed in relief as he finally saw her, but his chest tightened as he realized what she was doing.
