| CHAPTER TWENTY FIVE |

some angels
are destined
to fall.

YOU WERE ENTHRALLED IN HIS EYES. trapped in a trance of longing and desire, unable to look away.

the same eyes that had looked at you with hatred when you'd first arrived, looked at you in restrained desire whenever you touched him to heal, and looked at you with affection every time he drove your pleasure out of you.

now they held remorse, a hint of guilt. and beyond that... they held that raw need that mirrored yours.

you were trapped, chained, frozen to your spot. the world around you had dissipated into nothingness. no cries of war or demons moving around.

there was only
you
and
him.

you wanted to run, jump, fly, anything it took really, to just close the gap, to be close to him.

you wanted to throw your arms around him and hug him, feel his warmth around you once again.

you wanted to grab his face and kiss his eyes and nose and lips, kiss every inch of his body until your last breath.

but your feet were heavier than lead, lungs empty of breath, and you just stared back.

stared back into those red eyes that spoke of everything he wanted to do to you, raw and real and lustful.

you were entranced, spelled, bewitched. were you even blinking? probably not.

why had you been mad at him? you didn't remember. though it was on the tip of your tongue. yet every time you reached for it, those eyes of his and their filthy promises distracted you.

until you felt a small sting right between your shoulder blades. then another. then another.

soon it felt like a hundred thousand wasps were attacking your upper back, traveling up your arms and over your shoulders then back down to your lower back.

the pain grew and grew until even those red eyes couldn't distract you anymore.

you gasped, then gulped in air. but it only worsened the pain somehow.

your face contorted into a visage of agony just for a second before you schooled it into a mask of indifference.

your eyes met bakugou's again, saw the glimmer of concern in them. but this time you weren't dragged into those fires burning in them.
