Ep. 8: You Can Count On Me

After about an hour worth of driving along the streets of Seoul, Rona finally reached her best friend's cafe. After parking her car on the parking space outside the spacious cafe, she texted her best friend before she made her way through the entrance. 

As she entered the instagrammable cafe, Jenni called her name.

Rona-yah! I'm right here!

Rona roamed her eyes around the cafe to look for her best friend and almost immediately, she spotted her best friend on a table at a corner.

Jenni-yah!

She rushed towards her and gave her best friend a tight hug.

Jenni broke off from the hug and looked at her best friend.

Aigoo, look at my best friend. How can someone look so pretty even after crying? Look at you Rona-yah. Your eyes look puffy. Maybe a warm cup of coffee and a soft, fluffy, sweet cake could help even just a little bit. Come with me and let's sit at the VVIP area. If the press sees you and Minhyuk, the two of you might be entangled in baseless dating rumors once again.

Rona chuckled a little and smiled at her.

Thanks, Jenni-yah. You're the best!

The two of them went inside the VVIP area and as the two of them took their seats, Jenni called one of her staffs and asked her to prepare three cups of their best-selling coffee, two blueberry cheesecakes for her and Minhyuk, and one chocolate cake for Rona.

Rona-yah, I'm so shocked upon learning that Yoon Hee ahjumma and Yoon Chul ahjussi set you up in an arranged marriaged. That's the last thing I expect them to do to you.

Rona sighed in frustration.

I don't get it, Jenni-yah. I've been good to them all this time and I did not disobey them or what. Why are they punishing me like this? They know how much I value my freedom and how I view marriage. Eomma knows my dreams but I don't expect her to be like this. I thought she would understand me but instead, she decided to set me up in an arranged marriage to someone I don't even know without my permission! Am I a business asset?

Rona started to cry. Jenni couldn't do anything but to comfort her best friend. She rubbed her best friend's back, calming her down. 

But before Jenni could even reply, a male entered the VVIP area.

Yah! Yoo Jenni, why is Rona crying?

Minhyuk asked Jenni.

Jenni rolled her eyes at the man standing and said to him

Lee Minhyuk, shut up. Why would I make our bestie cry?! Can you just sit down first?!

Psh.

Minhyuk pouted and settled down beside Rona.

So what's with all this crying, Rona-yah? Are you okay?

Minhyuk asked. Seeing Rona on the verge of crying once again, Jenni spoke on her behalf instead.

You see, Rona is going to be someone's wife soon. Yoon Hee ahjumma and Yoon Chul ahjussi set her up in an arranged marriage with the son of their good friend who is their business partner. Apparently, they did it without consulting her so she is way too frustrated with her parents and the situation itself.
