Ep. 39: Step One

After about two weeks, there are only more than two months left before their big day and everything seemed to be fairly normal for Rona and Seokhoon.

Seokhoon prepared to come to the company and even insisted to bring Rona alomg with him however, the female hesitated and told him that she's fine being alone inside their apartment.

Seokhoon being the usual overprotective partner, called Rona's manager and asked her if she can accompany his fiancée while he's away. Fortunately, Rona's manager also meant to come over her talent's apartment unit to talk about an important matter and happily agreed to Seokhoon's request.

Hubby, you should come to the company now. You are an hour late.

Rona told him worriedly as she fixed his tie.

No. I will not leave the apartment unit not until your manager arrives. I cannot leave you alone in this apartment all by yourself. What if someone out there with bad intentions are waiting for you? What if someone tries to harm you once again while I'm away? You'll never know. I am sorry that I became more overprotective of you but I don't want anyone to mess up with my wifey once again, do you understand?

Rona knew that at this point, there was nothing that would make Seokhoon change his mind. Because if this, she could only let out a heavy sigh and nodded her head.

I understand. I know that you only want the best for me and you are just worried about me. Thank you for everything you did for me, Seokhoon-ah. You are that someone whom I can't bear to lose. I love you so much.

Seokhoon looked at her face and cupped her cheeks.

You don't need to thank me. When you love someone, you would naturally want to protect them, care for them, and give them the best of everything. I'm doing this not because of an obligation but because of the love I have for you. You'll always have me in your happiest and saddest moments. You know that, right?

Rona smiled at him softly and gave his lips a brief peck.

Yes, I know that very well.

The couple continued to hug each other silently until the sound kf their apartment unit's doorbell ringing interrupted them.

It must be Eonnie.

Rona gently pulled away from the hug and quickly dashed towards the door. Seokhoon followed her afterwards.

Eonnie! Come in, come in!

Rona welcomed her manager inside her apartment unit and ushered her towards the living room.

Hello, Rona! I miss you so much!

Rona's manager turned to Seokhoon's direction and bowed her head at him.

Hello, Vice Chairman Joo. Nice to see you once again.

Seokhoon chuckled and shook his head lightly.

No, no, no. Don't be so formal, noona. Just call me Seokhoon. Thank you so much for agreeing with me. I really appreciate it. Don't worry. I will hire bodyguards for her as soon as possible. It will only be for today.

Even if you ask me to accompany my talent everyday, that would be fine for me. Besides, I am also living alone and my unit is quite silent and lonely. It's nice to have some company.

That's great! So, I will go now. Do you want me to order some lunch for the two of you later?
