I descended down from the stairs excitedly, I have always loved it when Maina comes to visit especially now that we have confessed our love to each other.

Yes guys,we did!

I can still remember each and every detail of that day,it was a breezy afternoon and my car decided to give me problems.The car stopped in the middle of the street.I tried calling my buffalo brothers but it didn't go through so I called Maina.

He came after some minutes with his perfect smile which always makes me swoon,he called his mechanic to take care of my car and I hopped into his.

Maina was quite which was unusual,of course he is not much of a talker but he talks a lot when he is with me.

I tensed that something is wrong "What is wrong with you?" I questioned staring at him as if his face expression will give my answer directly.

Maina let out a sigh.

"You know Mariam, I have been through a lot.Many things have hurt me but I never knew that hiding love from someone hurts more than anything,it is killing me."

At that moment I went on a little drive.I have always thought Maina love me,from the way he looks at me and the way he talks to me.In general the way he treats me and act around me screams love.

As confused as I was,threading between weather it is my love or someone's,I let my mouth open to say the words that came to my mind "Love is not meant to be a secret."

He nod his head and silence enveloped the car.I let my eyes wander off distantly into the outside world that am seeing through the mirror,trying so hard to control my heart which doesn't know it place.

I badly wanted to ask who she is but for the first time,talking didn't seem so easy.I dropped it and kept my mouth shut.

"I love you,Mariam."

My head snapped toward him as soon as I heard that,he looked nonchalant as he kept swiveling the stirring wheel effortlessly "Did you say something?"

Maybe he didn't actually say anything,it was just my ears deceiving me.

He nod his head "I am in love with you.That is what I said." He replied.

My breath caught up in my throat because of the way my heart was beating so fast,at first relief surged through me because it is not another lady but me.

Then it dawned on me that he love me,ME!

"Maina,you love me?"

The question was stupid even before it left my mouth but as we all know,I have got no filter.

"Yes,Mariam." He answered smiling widely.

It is now or never!

Nervousness sank through me "I love you too."

The car stopped right in front of our house as he stare at me quietly.

"I don't really know what to say," He said nervously and I laughed "Same."

No need to rush,we have a future together.

"Mariam,you are not a dream come true to me."

I scrunch up my face "What am I then?"

"A prayer answered."

That is how it went!

"So,I am Mariam's Maina?" He questioned and I nod my head smiling.

"Is Mariam mine too?" I nod my head.

He glanced at me playfully and gave me his usual lopsided smile which makes him ten times cuter.

"Will Mariam be my Mrs then?"

I smiled at him with happiness overwhelming my soul.

"In the next two years, I will be sitting down with a protruding belly while we fight about what to name our baby."

I replied and he wiggled his eyebrow laughing "Sounds cute."

I nod my head happily.

"Will we live at Jalo estate?"

I eye him shaking my head.

"You betrayed Jalo estate!"

"I didn't!"

After everyone left,me and my family sat down as we converse with each other.

We laughed.

And cringed at some memories.

What matters is that we are together.

A message pinged in my phone.
