I woke to find myself being spooned by Jamie. I turned around to face him.
"Morning babe. How are you feeling?" He asked me.
"Morning. Im feeling amazing thanks. And you?"
"Pretty damn good!" He smiled. "Im so lucky."
"Why's that?" I asked him, snuggling closer.
"I have an amazing girlfriend like you." I couldnt help but let the huge grin spread across my face.
We lay in each others arms for another hour before getting up and getting ready for the day we had planned with his family. We had been together for a month and a half now and things were great. I had today left until I went back to college again for my second year.
** TWO WEEKS LATER **
I woke up feeling dizzy. Great, some sort of illness on its way. I groaned and crawled out of bed. Jamie hadnt stayed last night as he needed to take care of Alfie but I had managed to sleep with no nightmares.
I took a look at the calandar on my way to the bathroom. September 14th and my second week back at college. I took a double take at the calander and noticed the 12th was marked with a big red cross. That meant I should have had my period but I was 2 days late.
Jamie and I had continued in many sexual endeavors since my first time but had always used protection. No need to worry Zara, just the stress of college, thats all. I cleared my mind of worrying thoughts and got ready for college.
I met up with the girls but hardly spoke all day. I felt sick and tired and wanted to be back at home, in bed, resting. The girls kept asking me what was wrong but truth was, I didnt know.
I replied with short snappy answers to their questions without even realising. Usually I was lively during my lessons, getting on with my work, answering questions for the teacher or asking for help when I needed it. However today I was quiet. I sat at the back of the classroom, staring out the window.
When it came to photography I sat in the corner with Jess next to me. This was when she started to get really annoying, constantly bugging me about what was wrong.
"Zara, Im so worried about you. Youre acting so weird today."
"I dont even know whats wrong with me, I just feel like shit."
"Oh zee." Jess rubbed my back sympathetically. "Youll be alright its probably just period or something."
"Hmm" I replied. I crossed my arms on my desk and buried my head in them, closing my eyes.
I woke up at the end of the lesson by Jess shaking me.
"Zara, wake up. Lessons over."
"Yeah, okay." I replied and lifted my head up. I wondered how I managed to sleep through a whole lesson. Especially a lesson that I was usually really involved in as it was my favourite.
"Zara!" Jess was clicking her fingers in my face. "Snap out of it youre worrying me now. Go home and get some rest."
"Uh, that is exactly what I need right now." I moaned.
"Whos taking you home?"
"Jamie." Another blunt answer.
"Okay, im walking you to the car."
We got to the car and Jess shoved me into the passanger seat.
"This bitch is PMS'ing. Take care of her, she needs rest" Jess told Jamie but I zoned out again.
Jamie rested a hand on my shoulder.
"You okay my girl?" He asked me.
"Yeah. Fine. Just ill."
"Is it your period?" He asked me, slightly awkwardly.
I shook my head violently and leaned back in my seat as Jamie began the journey home.
