Chapter-39

Author's pov.

     

              Jungkook left, leaving all of them a little guilty. No one tried to stop him. Not even Jimin, who would've turned the world upside down of had seen Jungkook angry, in the past.

   
        " What are you trying to do, Jimin?" Taehyung couldn't see all this happening, so he asked out of irritation.

        " What? Can't you see how ungrateful he was? He didn't even care that I just returned." Jimin snapped, with a blank face.

       " Okay, I am not here to defend him but, it wasn't his fault," Tae grumbled at how careless Jimin had become.

      " I don't want you telling me who's fault is it." Jimin clenched his jaws, eyes red with anger.

     
     " Sorry, I haven't signed up to be your bitch, so I can tell you what's wrong," Taehyung retorted, making Jimin look at him, " and I don't understand if you had already decided to behave this way to him, why did you ask me to take care of him in the first place. Why did you beg me to take university with him when I could easily go somewhere better."

      " Because he needed a friend, otherwise he would have gone the same wrong way that I chose. He could've become suicidal. And I didn't want that for him," Jimin's voice became soft as he looked away from Taehyung.

       " If you cared that much, why didn't you talk to him yourself. He has been miserable without you and he still is," Taehyung looked distressed, his two friends that dearly loved each other had grown apart.

Jimin didn't answer. Instead, he smiled making his way toward his other friends. Taehyung got angry at his selfishness but chose not to say anything.

     
Taehyung got worried about Jungkook and left the party in a hurry, leaving a glaring Hoseok behind.

         Taehyung sighed as he spotted Jungkook sitting at his front door. He was clearly distressed, his head hung low. Taehyung couldn't tell if he was crying or not due to dim lights but he sat beside him anyway.

         " I know you're upset but trust me I am more upset than you by the way Jimin behaved," Taehyung sighed.

         " It...It doesn't matter anymore," Jungkook murmured, " nothing matters anymore. Maybe he was right all along...maybe it is all my fault. I made him change himself...he tried too hard to make himself acceptable in my eyes that he forgot that whatever happens, I'll be waiting at the end." Jungkook choked on his tears.

         He was about to say something when he saw Jimin approaching them furiously.  Tae and Jungkook looked at each other before looking at him, who just stood in front of them.

       " What do you want, Jungkook," Jimin said in an irritated tone, crossing his arm as he looked at Jungkook, completely ignoring Taehyung. " I just came back after so long and I can't even have a decent night. It's my fucking birthday and I want to be happy."

Jungkook remained silent.

        " Do you hear me?" Jimin screamed with dominance and confidence.

Still, no answer as Jungkook and Taehyung both stayed put in their seats.

         " I gotta go," Tae excused himself and left. Leaving both of them alone to fight until they kill each other.

        " Once a coward, always a coward," Jimin smirked, " after all these years you still can't defend yourself," Jimin said gritting his teeth.
