Paperjam kicked his feet on the floor, huffing. He was sitting on a worn bench, and It was getting dark, though it wasn't dark enough not to see anything yet. It was the perfect balance between night and day, with neither the moon or sun visible in the sky at the moment.

The grass tickled his ankles as the wind blew. He looked up, and caught eyes with a smiling Emilio, who was leaning against one of the tunnels younger children would crawl through, close enough so they could still talk to each other.

Paperjam huffed at Emilio's expression, rolling his eyes as he looked away. Emilio chuckled, but opted to say nothing, instead continuing to watch Paperjam.

Unable to help himself, Paperjam glanced back to Emilio, taking the skeleton in. He had kept his theme of Purple, wearing a dark, almost black, purple jacket over his usual hoodie. Emilio wore a scarf, a short, hand-made looking one that was wrapped around him lazily. He was smiling, an ugly stupid smile Paperjam would insist, and he had his hair down, it falling around his face far too attractively to be anything but purposeful, Paperjam would once again insist.

Paperjam scoffed, "you're stupid" he insulted suddenly. Emilio let out a laugh, "what? For liking you? Don't so hard on yourself" Emilio joked, shoving his hands into his pockets and winking at Paperjam.

Paperjam paused, before whipping his head aggressively to Emilio's direction. "wha- That's not what I meant!" Paperjam spluttered out, glaring at Emilio. He grinned at Paperjam, before replying with, "does it matter?" Emilio asked, walking over to sit next to him.

Paperjam scoffed, rolling his eyes. "Of course it does, Idiot" He responded, purposefully not looking at the other skeleton. Emilio didn't respond, and after awhile, his silence made Paperjam turn to him.

Emilio was still smiling, though the amused, sharp smile he had before had turned into a smaller, stupider warm smile Paperjam had come to realize Emilio got way too often while talking to him. Paperjam sighed, smiling back at him, "you're still stupid" Paperjam repeated his earlier words. Emilio grinned, "For-?" Paperjam kicked the other lightly, "don't you dare carry on with that" Paperjam warned Emilio.

The wind got stronger, making both of the shiver slightly. "you cold?" Emilio questioned, glancing at him. He then added, "If you are, I can romantically give you my coat like in the movies" he joked, though the offer somehow still felt serious. Paperjam huffed, "Don't even try it" he replied, then, somewhat more moodily, he continued with, "I'm not even cold".

Emilio pouted, "ah, too bad" He kicked the ground, "I've always wanted to do that" Emilio informed Paperjam. The darker skeleton rolled his eyes, "Of course you have" Paperjam said, unsurprised.

Emilio huffed, "what? Is it wrong to be a romantic?" Emilio asked defensively. Paperjam snorted in amusement, "hopeless romantic, you mean" He quipped back, looking straight into Emilio's purple eyes. Emilio smirked, "I've got you, haven't I?" At Paperjam's flustered silence, he added, "Doesn't sound hopeless to me" Emilio shuffled to sit closer to him.

Paperjam didn't glare this time, "You're unbelievable, Emilio" He muttered, pulling his scarf closer to his face while looking away. "In a good way?" Paperjam could hear the grin in Emilio's words as he spoke. He looked back at him, "maybe" He admitted.

Wistfully, Emilio said, "I think that's the nicest thing you've said to me today" He remarked happily. Paperjam huffed, once again glaring at him, "No it's not" He argued. Emilio gave a silent laugh, before grabbing Paperjam's right hand with his gloved one.

Paperjam felt a gloved thumb rub over the back of his hand. He looked down to his hand, before looking back up to Emilio. "Don't worry, I like it when you're mean to me" Emilio told him, grinning. Paperjam rolled his eyes, "That's stupid. Who likes that?" Paperjam questioned, quietly adding, 'I'm not mean' after.
