(A/N I feel like this should be obvious, but don't do what Paperjam's about to do. Ever.)
Paperjam huffed, looking at Gradient in hasty annoyance. "They're about to leave, what are we waiting for?" Paperjam hissed out, looking out the window where he could see Erratum and his dad talking. Gradient rolled his eyes, "Stop being so impatient, I was just thinking" Gradient told his brother, ignoring the elder's squawk of surprise.
They left the kitchen, Gradient dragging Paperjam by the arm in an uncomfortable manner. "Hide behind the bins, alright? I'll give a signal for when you go" Gradient ordered, opening the door and shoving Paperjam in the direction of his hiding place.
Paperjam scoffed to himself, but did as he was told, crouching behind the green recycling bins. Peeping through the crack between the two bins, Paperjam could make out Gradient, who was excitingly talking to the two adults. "Please? Please dad? come on, It'll be quick" Gradient whined out, making Error sigh. "dON'T woRRy ErRor, wE've GOt SoMe TImE" Erratum spoke up, interrupting whatever Error was going to say.
Error let out a small laugh, "Okay Kid, what do you wanna show us?" Error questioned, all three of the walking towards the door. Gradient grinned, "It's a surprise! Come on, hurry up" Gradient exclaimed. Just as he said this, Gradient looked over in his direction, nodding slightly.
Paperjam rolled his eyes, that was the signal? Sighing, He stood up just as the door closed, speedily making his way to the car. Reaching the back of the car, Paperjam grimaced, "this isn't gonna be fun, is it?" He asked himself rhetorically. Shaking his head, Paperjam grabbed the handle, opening the boot of the car.
Looking at the empty boot, Paperjam sighed in relief. "At least I'll have some room" He muttered to himself, The feeling of this being a bad idea growing more and more the longer he stared. Paperjam awkwardly started to crawl into the boot. Sitting in it, he decided it be best if he laid on his side, facing the entrance of the back of the car.
It took a bit of fiddling, but Paperjam finally managed to close the boot from the inside, making it considerably darker than before. There was still light coming from behind him, as the ceiling was a strange material that could be pulled up if you wanted it to, but otherwise it was completely dark.
It was strangely comfortable in there, but the information that he was going to be in a moving car, in the boot, was keeping Paperjam from relaxing. "This is a bad idea" He muttered to himself, before shaking his head, it being slightly awkward because he was on his side. "no, don't try and back out now" He whispered, sounding determined.
There was the sound of footsteps. "You got everything?" The muffled sound of his dad was heard. Paperjam could hear Erratum let out a tiny laugh, "YeP" His teacher responded. The off-beat sound of two doors opening at the same time was heard, and Erratum and Error entered the car, their voices getting slightly clearer.
Error coughed, "So, what do these guys want?" Error questioned, just as the car turned on. Paperjam jumped slightly at the noise, but kept quiet. "ThEy NeEd TO cHEck A feW thIngS, or So THey SaId" Erratum informed Error, "I HoNEsTLy COuLdn'T MakE oUt mUch, JuST thAT theY WanTED Us TO COme BACk" Erratum said as the car started to move.
Paperjam breathed nervously, "not dead yet" He thought to himself, jokingly. "Why? those fancy science words too much for you?" Error teased, making Erratum laugh. "KiNDa I GueSS" Erratum agreed in amusement.
Neither of the adults said anything after that, and they stayed silent for around forty-five minutes. Paperjam sighed, looking down at his phone in boredom. There wasn't much you could do when you were hiding in the boot of a car. A loud ringing startled Paperjam out of his thoughts, making the skeleton hit his head.
