At Last

Four more days had passed and Mattheo still had not woken up. I had a breakdown yesterday, wondering if he ever would wake up. I was cursing at Voldemort, and flailing my arms about like a toddler. Pansy had comforted me to the best of her ability, though she was quite upset too...
It was breakfast during a chilly morning; groups were huddled together discussing the Yule Ball once more. It was getting quite annoying really. I think if Mattheo was here I would've been equally as excited. Ever since the incident I became distant and didn't talk to anyone, even Draco.
Owls had begun to fly and dive above and through the four long tables; some slamming into the  croissant platter awkwardly wedged between the juice and porridge.
I was about to go in for another bite of the waffles on my plate when a brown package slammed onto the syrup coated waffle. 'Goddamn.' I muttered, slowly removing the package from waffles as a string of syrup connected the two.
I pushed the plate aside with one hand, and placed the package in front of me detangling the white string. A sleek black gown with a delicate layer of soft silver glitter was revealed. It was gorgeous.
In all the school, Delilah and Mattheo stress I had forgotten that I didn't even have my dress yet.
Suddenly, I didn't feel hungry. I stood up, grabbing the package and set off towards the hospital wing, a bright smile etched on my face.

'Mattheo!' I yelled, knowing full well I would receive no response as I turned into the hospital wing. '...Mattheo!?' He was there, his soft eyes staring into mine, a gentle smile on his face and he spoke finally, in his delicate voice, 'Hey.'
I was beyond overjoyed, 'MATTHEO' I yelled. In the rush of the moment I dropped the gown and flung myself around him, hugging him tightly as I felt him hug me back. 'Finally... I missed you.'
'You did?' he said with a hint of surprise in his voice.
'Ofcourse I did you dimwit.' I sighed. 'Guess what came today! The gown!' I said happily, I ran back to the spot where I dropped it and put it against my body. 'How does it look?'
'Absolutely stunning.' he chuckled.
'The ball is tomorrow.'
'Oh is it?' he said, his joyful smile fading, 'I- I'm sorry, Y/n, Madam Pomfrey will strangle me if I go. She says I need to rest.'
'O-oh.' I spirit faltered, 'Thats okay. We'll dance together here.'  I smiled sweetly, 'I'll figure something out, I promise.' I said confidently.
'You don't have to Y/n, its not that big of a deal.'
'Yes it is! I have to figure something out.'
'There is no way out of this is there?' he said defeated.
'Nope!'
He sat in silence as I folded the gown gently placing it back in its brown wrapping. 'Hey Y/n,'
'Hm?'
'You know I heard everything you said while I was in coma.'
I stopped abruptly. 'You what?' my heart was getting fluttery and panicky at the same time.
'Did you mean what you said?'
'Mean what?'
'That you thought Professor Snape was lowkey hot when he was younger?'
'I did NOT say that, you bitch.' I roughly tied the knot back up, and punched the package.
'Yes, you did.' he teased playfully.
