Alan suspected that something was up with his son. He noticed how he started to wear long sleeves and pants during warm days and how he began to be less talkative around him whenever his mother was present as well. He knew it couldn't have been at school because Yoongi or Taehyung would have reported it, and it couldn't have been either of the two boys because why would Jungkook repetitively beg to go over to their places to hang out or do homework without returning home with marks. Alan knew that his wife didn't approve of their son being openly bi and tried his best to convince her that it wasn't a bad thing but she wanted nothing of it. He also knew of Yoongi and Taehyung being gay (and vampires, but knew that it wasn't his place to talk about it) and fully supported them, often telling them that they are welcome over whenever he was making dinner since he knew the 2 boys were far from their parents. It had to have been his wife, but he didn't want to believe it. He couldn't believe it until he had proof. So he sat there, just thinking. He had finished his work for the day an hour ago but he didn't want to leave the office quite yet. Not until he was able to come to terms with all his thoughts.
It was a quarter till one in the morning when he got home, and judging by the silence he was greeted with it was safe to assume that they were all asleep. After taking a seat at the kitchen table to begin his dinner he noticed a dent on the wall near behind Jungkook's usual seat, it was too small for it to be from someone punching it but also big enough to not be just a mere accident. Upon further inspection, there was a shard on the floor from a plate. Things just weren't making sense. After finishing his dinner and cleaning up, Jungkook's father decided to go upstairs to ask about the dent, it would need to be covered with some spackle. After softly knocking and entering Jungkook's room the red mark from his mother slapping was evident along with tear-stained cheeks in the moonlight. Not wanting to disturb his son, who seemed to have had a long night, he decided to call it a night and think of a game plan the next day.
6:30 am soon came and it was time for Jungkook's dad to leave for work. He was always the first one up and out before his wife, who got up around 7:30 for work, and son, who normally had to get up at the same time due to his mother screaming in his face and leave shortly after his mother for Taehyung or Yoongi's house to silently ask to cuddle all day or cling onto them while they work since they both work from home, Yoongi as a ghostwriter and producer and Taehyung as a photo and video editor.
After arriving at work, getting some advice from a co-worker, Maria, about something potentially being wrong within that household that no one is talking about. She recommended a wall plug security camera and offered to bring in the one she used to catch her husband, who had brought another woman home multiple times while she was away at work. The camera recorded audio as well and didn't look suspicious at all when simply plugged into the wall. Since it worked as a charger as well, there was just a small button on the back that needed to be pushed to start recording and an SD card slot to store the recordings on. Alan knew exactly where he would be putting this in the house, they had a charger in the kitchen that looked almost identical to this camera one so there would be no reason for someone to become suspicious of it. After getting home at his normal time, at quarter past midnight, he got everything into position. Before leaving for work the next morning he pressed the record button, not wanting anything bad to happen but wanting to potentially have answers as to why his son is slowly losing himself.
