23) Jungkook - Comfortable?

Despite Alan and Jungkook claiming that they would be moving out of Maria's house after Alan's paycheck, the two ended up staying and weren't planning on leaving anytime soon.

The day before the pair was planning on leaving, Maria had managed to convince the two to stay because she enjoyed having them around. The only condition for Alan to stay was that he would help pay the bills, which Maria gladly accepted, knowing that she could now put more money into more "luxury items" as she called them though it was more of upgrading her current appliances and doing some remodeling to her house that was greatly needed. Of course, the feeling wasn't one-sided either. Alan thoroughly enjoyed being around Maria, he felt a type of spark that he hadn't felt in a long time since he and his ex-wife first got married before she hated Jungkook. Alan was of course scared that things would repeat themself but he also knew that this was the women who pulled him and Jungkook out of their lowest time in life and brought back a sense of energy that he never had before, the vibe was just so different. It was never one of them jumping to conclusions when the other acted so slightly differently, it was speaking carefully and giving the other a sense of comfort without having to ask questions. It was just so nice to Alan to have something like that again. The longer he spent with Maria, the more he realized just how blinded by what he thought was love with his ex-wife. Jungkook also took advantage of having Maria around, to him, she really filled in that motherly role that he didn't have since he came out. Sure Jungkook had his father, but he was always at the office and got home late. They never really got to spend much time with each other, but Jungkook was okay with that for the most part since he was a very understanding and patient person. He knew that his father was doing it so that he could go to college, given that his mother absolutely despised him. However, after being around Maria for the past few weeks, Jungkook knew that the part of him that had been ripped to shreds by his biological mother was slowly being pieced back together by Maria. Maria never raised her voice while speaking to him and would always bring him food when he was up studying or blankets and a pillow when he accidentally fell asleep on the couch. Jungkook also knew that Maria would check on him every night and quietly tuck him in, even though he was 22 because she knew that the boy had suffered through so much for so long.

Another few weeks passed and then those weeks turned into months. Soon enough it had officially been 4 months of Alan and Jungkook staying with Maria. None of them could complain though, the once dull household was lively and full of energy again.

Once Maria felt that Jungkook and Alan had adapted to living with her comfortably, Maria began to think that it was time to make things between her and Alan official, and for them to actually begin dating. The pair still slept together since those few times Maria had night terrors and they would often eat out during lunch breaks or after work, but nothing was official, there was no need to rush, but there was one thing that was holding Maria back. She still hadn't told Alan and Jungkook that she was a vampire.

Maria knew that Jungkook and Alan wouldn't freak out because vampires living alongside humans was normal, and she knew that both Yoongi and Taehyung were vampires as well. However, some people didn't want to live forever. Some humans wanted to live out the journey of life and live like you were going to die because they actually would. She figured that the sooner the better, so that if they do reject her she can move on and know that there is a boundary between her and Alan. She would be sad if he did reject her but she couldn't be so sure, they were so close and she didn't want to lose what they had.

"Maybe I should tell Jungkook first. The boy is very understanding and since Yoongi and Taehyung are vampires he might be more comfortable hearing it from me and then I could gauge how I should go about telling his father...yeah that's what I'll do. I just hope he hears me out and is nice about it..." Maria said to herself while she was doing laundry. Alan was out running errands and Jungkook wouldn't be home until after lunch since he had spent the night at Yoongi's again. She decided that she would confront Jungkook about it Saturday since she knew that Jungkook will be home after spending Friday at Yoongi's and Alan will be gone until dinner Sunday since he has a meeting out of town Friday and will be stopping by his parents to stay the night on his way back Saturday.
