Alan and Maria's wedding wasn't exactly like how you picture most weddings to be. You think that they would be this big event, and there is a huge build-up with the proposal and engagement, but Alan and Maria wanted nothing like that. Neither one even proposed. Maria had told Alan how she had lived long enough to see many of the cliche wedding proposals and felt like proposals were one-sided, that the person asking always seems to care more than the person answering, so she wanted none of that. Instead, they mutually agreed to get married and plan their wedding together. The guest list would be composed of Alan's parents, Maria's mother, Yoongi and Taehyung along with their boyfriends, both Jin and Jungkook, and a few other close co-workers/friends. It wasn't anything much, but that's just how they wanted it to be.
Jungkook, being an only child, was really excited to have a new brother. It made him even happier that Jin was older than him, so then he would have someone to look up to, along with someone that could help him in school or in life in general. The downside was that Jin wouldn't arrive until the day before the wedding, so they wouldn't be able to spend much time together beforehand. However, Jin would be back from his overseas studies for the remainder of the year which means that they had plenty of time to bond and get to know each other.

The wedding came sooner than everyone thought and It was now time for Jungkook and Jin to finally meet. Jin had gotten in that morning, and Maria decided to bring along Jungkook with her to pick Jin up from the airport. Jungkook was very excited to finally be able to meet his step-brother but also very nervous about if he would like him or not.
"Jin, over here!" Maria yelled to Jin as she saw him walking through the gates. "I've missed you so much, son! How have you been? You look great!" Maria said as she engulfed Jin in a bear hug.
"Don't worry, I've been taking care of myself Mom, and I've missed you too! How have you been? It seems like a lot has changed in the past year that I've been gone." Jin replied into the hug.
"Oh things have been just fine, they were a bit chaotic at first, but I couldn't be happier, hence why the wedding is happening! I never thought that I would be able to feel this energetic again!" Maria chuckled as she broke away from the hug. "Anyway, this is your new step-brother Jungkook. He's Alan's son and a year below you in school. I hope you two boys get along nicely!" Maria said, introducing Jungkook to Jin.
"Hi! It's nice to meet you Jin, and as Maria said, I hope we get along! I've always wanted an older brother!" Jungkook said cheekily with a wave and a bright smile.
"It's nice to meet you too. I'm sure we'll get along just fine," Jin said back with a soft smile, seeing that Jungkook's energy reminded him of his friend and former roommate Ken from studying overseas.
"Well, let's stop and pick up some lunch since airplane food isn't necessarily the best, and I'm sure you're hungry," Maria said to avoid any awkward silence between the three of them. Both boys agreed and headed towards the car, and the three of them began trying to figure out what they wanted for lunch. They eventually decided that Panda Express would probably be the easiest and would have something for everyone.
After picking up the takeout, they finally made it back to Maria's house, and Alan greeted them at the door.
"Oh, I see you got some Panda Express. I was just able to call and see what you wanted to do for lunch," Alan got up from the couch to get the food from Maria. "Also, hello. I take it that you are Maria's son Seokjin, I'm Alan, but I'm sure you know that already. I hope you will accept Jungkook and me into your family" Alan said, greeting Seokjin.
"Yes, that is me, but you're welcome to call me Jin since you will be my new father soon. The other guy was never a father figure to me, so welcome to our family. I'm sure that we will all get along just fine. Now not to be rude and cut this introduction short, but I'm starving, and the food smells delicious. So let's eat before it gets cold." Jin replied with a chuckle.

After they all finished lunch, Jungkook and Alan left to make sure everything for the wedding was all set and ready to go for tomorrow, so Maria took this time to talk to Jin about the future of their family.
"Now sweetie I know that you aren't too fond of me turning them into vampires after what happened to my ex-husband, but I know that these two are different. Alan also turned down his parents' invitation to turn him because he didn't want being a vampire to hinder his relationship. He is different. He and Jungkook have been through so much together, I can't just turn one and not the other. Just try to be nice for the time being okay?" Maria explained to Jin, knowing how he acted in the past to newly turned vampires.
"Okay Mom, I will try my best for you. I mean I only met him an hour or so ago, and I can already see the difference in the way he treats you. I trust you, so you have my full support, Mom." Jin replied to Maria with full sincerity in his voice.
"Thank you, son. I really do appreciate everything you do for me. I love you." Maria said with a smile plastered on her face.
"I love you too Mom. I just want you to be happy." Jin said with a genuine smile.

The wedding came and went by a lot faster than anyone had anticipated. It was simplistic but wholesome. Things within the household just felt right. Everyone was content with things, and there was no longer a burning hole in Alan or Maria's hearts. Jin knew that he wouldn't be receiving calls from his mother at odd times to listen to her crying about her ex-husband and Jungkook finally felt like he had a true family.
