11) Jungkook - It all makes sense

Alan pulled up a chair next to Maria to play the footage, chewing on his bottom lip and clenching his fists to help relieve some of his nerves. Maria noticed the whites of his knuckles showing and decided to reach out and squeeze his hand, hoping to signal to him that he wasn't alone in this. That she was there next to him to help. She looked over at him one last time before pressing play on the video in front of them, a condensed version so it didn't have the hours of anything happening as they were both out of the house during the day.

By the end of the video, Alan was in tears, the pain of his son caused him pain. He knew Jungkook's relationship with his mother wasn't the best after he came out as bi, but he never thought it would get to the extent that she would lay her hands on him like that. He couldn't let his son live like that anymore. He wouldn't allow it. He sat there sobbing into Maria's shoulder for around an hour before realizing that if something was going to happen, it started with him. He knew Jungkook was too nice to bring up issues first but would openly talk about them if someone else initiated the conversation. However, that would mean another day of his son suffering at the hands of his soon-to-be-ex-wife's wrath. After regaining his composure, and with the help of Maria, Alan found his phone and immediately called Taehyung and Yoongi. He asked Taehyung just for the weekend since he knew Taehyung's boyfriend had just gotten back into town from being overseas and then Yoongi for the rest of the week. Alan didn't tell the two boys too much about what was happening but he did make sure to tell them not to let Jungkook back into his house until he had gotten an official divorce and restraining order from his wife. He then called Jungkook to tell him to not return home for a week and to not answer his mother, to block off all contact with her until the divorce was officially over. Alan even told Jungkook that he will go and get his phone number changed so that she has no way of getting it. He didn't mention the restraining order, he felt that was something he should be telling his son in person.

Maria had also offered to host Alan at her house for the time being and Jungkook after staying with his friends, which Alan reluctantly agreed to, knowing that if he lived in a hotel he wouldn't be able to properly take care of himself or Jungkook until everything had settled. Alan still managed to negotiate that he would pay for at least the groceries and gas while they stayed. Maria hesitated on letting Alan pay for anything because she knew how expensive divorce battles could get, especially if a lawyer needs to get involved. With the main case being family violence.
