29) Jungkook - A Step Further

Months passed after Maria and Alan officially got together and things were going great. They went on dates every Friday and made sure that all three of them did something together on Saturdays since that was the only day that all three of them didn't have anything scheduled regularly. Jungkook still spent nights at Taehyung and Yoongi's house but he was home with Maria more often now since she stepped up to be that motherly role in his life.

As things began to become more regular between all three of them, Jungkook also began working a few hours a week at the college library, having found a new passion for learning that heightened after seeing all the different types of students who went to the library, either to study or meet up with friends. Jungkook found each person that went through the library doors interesting, but not in a bad way. He enjoyed the diversity of the campus; it had a charm and openness to it that other places didn't. He met some different students but he never really became friends with them outside of their encounters at the library. Jungkook would know their names because he would have to take their name in order to borrow a book, but the majority of them never asked for his name back, not even thinking about hanging out, rather they mainly talked to him when they needed help on an academic paper or a good book recommendation. Most of them, however, just asked for the location of certain books or asked Jungkook to order a book they needed for class.

There was one person who began to stand out a little more than the others. Jungkook had never seen him on campus before, but something about him just pulled him in his direction. According to Jungkook, he had the 'I need to know everything' type of attitude in life which Jungkook found fascinating. He had never met someone so interested in learning besides himself, and possibly Yoongi if the man wasn't so lazy to actually spend hours working on mastering a task rather than just acknowledge it and put it aside for later.

More months passed Maria and Alan figured that they had known each other for years before, being co-workers, and that things were going so well that they should just get married. It took a lot of thinking on Alan's part, mainly about if he should accept the offer of becoming a vampire or not and what would Jungkook do. Alan had never talked to Jungkook about becoming a vampire, so he figured that he should probably start there. It would just be the two of them this weekend since it was Maria's turn to take a business trip so he figured that they would be the perfect time to ask.

"Jungkook, whenever you can come downstairs so we can figure out what we want to do for dinner!" Alan called up to Jungkook in his bedroom.

"Okay! I'll be down in a minute. Just let me finish this page I'm reading!" Jungkook replied.

After finishing, Jungkook rushed downstairs to meet his dad, feeling bad for keeping him waiting.

"Okay, so I was thinking we could take out subs for dinner? I don't feel like cooking today, and I'm sure you don't feel like it either." Alan said to Jungkook as he walked into the kitchen.

"Yeah, I'm good with that dad, just pick whatever you want, and I'll split it with you," Jungkook replied.

"Hey, also I wanted to talk to you about our new family. I understand that all of this is new and it has been a handful of months so I don't want to rush you too much. But would you be open to the idea of Maria and I getting married soon? That would mean that she turns me into a vampire... I know that I rejected my parents' offer, but I truly feel like I have someone special, and it's not like I've only known her for a few months. I've worked with her for years, and I know that what Maria and I share is something that I won't be able to find again. My main reason for telling you this is not only because you are my son but because I wanted to know if you wanted to become one with me. I know that this is all new to you, but I would love it if I could spend the rest of eternity with you. I completely understand if you don't want to and I am not trying to force you to do anything, so this decision is entirely up to you. The wedding will be in 3 months, so you have until then to make your decision, alright?" Alan said. He was so nervous about how Jungkook would react, but he would respect his decision no matter what it was.

"I can tell just the energy that you and Maria have is something that is just something special that I've never seen before in my life. As I said before, I've never seen you as happy as you are with her dad. Even with your ex-wife, your smile just never seemed to reach your eyes with her. This is something special and um I know I might be jumping into this without thinking, but I want to be with the two of you so if you are getting turned into a vampire, then I want to be too. You already know Yoongi and Taehyung are vampires too so I don't think they will mind being around for a few more centuries with them." Jungkook replied without hesitation and confidently.

"You don't understand how relieved I am to hear that. I was so worried that I would have to watch you grow old and live without you," Alan said as he walked over to Jungkook to hug him, but his stomach started growling. "Now let's order dinner since I think it's clear that I'm hungry." Alan laughed.
