Namjoon had woken up with this kind of weird yet happy feeling building in his chest. What's special about September 1st, 1997? He couldn't figure it out. But he could feel a smile slowly start to curl his lips as a sudden burst of happiness flooded through him. Getting out of bed, Namjoon left his room and traveled downstairs to greet his parents. He had been staying with them for the past week because Jackson was out of town doing the same thing. Without realizing it, a soft smile was still present on his face as he walked into the living room, rubbing his eyes a little bit.
"Ah! Good morning little bear!" Hera exclaimed from where she was sitting in the living room.
"Good morning Mom." Namjoon hummed as he bent over to kiss her temple. Shocking her slightly from the affection.
"Uh," She mumbled and looked up to her son, a tad confused.
"What?" Namjoon shrugged at his mom, confused as to why she's confused.
"What's got you all happy this morning? You never show any kind of affection when you first wake up." Hera muttered suspiciously.
"I dunno. I just feel really happy today for some reason." Namjoon grinned softly.
"Okay...?" Hera was still confused. Her confusion increased when Yang walked into the living room and Namjoon gave him a hug.
"Uh..." Yang looked at his wife over Namjoon's shoulder, really confused as to why his son was being as affectionate as he was first thing in the morning.
"Good morning, Dad." Namjoon grinned as he pulled away, dimples as prominent as ever before he walked into the kitchen to get himself some tea.
"Uhm-" Yang started.
"I have no idea." Hera cut him off and shrugged. "He just said he's really happy for no reason," she explained.
"And he walked out of his bedroom like this?" Yang questioned. "Our son, who needs his morning tea before any social interaction? Woke up happy for no reason?" Yang tried to piece his thoughts together. Hera nodded, trying to wrap her mind around it too.
The two then just shook their heads and went about their day like normal.

Being the curious person Hera was, she had sat down in her mini library in the basement of her home and started her research. She had pulled out this old, dusty, leather-bound book and sat down at her desk, flipping through the pages until she had found what she was looking for.
At the top of the page read 'Fated Souls'. The soulmates of the vampire world. As Hera read through the chapter, her son's indescribable happiness started to make sense. She was happy that her son would be able to find love within the right person someday but also worried about what that would do to her son if this person were to die.
You see, fated souls are the people who are meant to be together for the rest of their lives. On the day of their birth, the already living mate is filled with this indescribable happiness that stays with them for the whole day. Once the two meet, they can feel each other's pain but only faintly. This is helpful, but also harmful. When one of the mates dies, the other goes through this indescribable pain and falls into the worst depression ever until they die, from a broken heart.
Hera didn't want her son to go through that pain, but it was inevitable now that his person had been born. Besides this worry, she was relieved to know that her son wouldn't be alone for the rest of his days. It took 236 years, but she couldn't be happier for her son.
