Namjoon was just casually sitting on the couch the next day after his confrontation with Jackson, when he felt a slight pain starting in his ribs, like a dull ache one would experience when growing up. The ache then appeared in his shoulder and he grumbled a little in response.
"This is fucking weird," Namjoon mumbled to himself, pushing the dull ache away and focusing on his book once more.
It was only two hours later before the ache got stronger and a headache started to form, Namjoon groaned softly and put his book down. Slipping off his glasses, Namjoon closed his eyes and gently rubbed his face with his hands, hoping the headache and aches would go away.
The aches started to build a bit in intensity. Namjoon was confused and his head pounded so he did what he thought was right at that moment, he called his mother.
"Hello?" Hera's sweet voice filled Namjoon's ear.
"Mom..." Namjoon whined a little.
"What's wrong, bear?" Hera immediately asked, concern coating each word.
"My head hurts and I've got these dull aches like growing pains and I don't know what they are," Namjoon mumbled, rubbing at his temples to get the headache to go away.
Hera was silent for a moment on the other side of the phone. Namjoon could hear her gasp softly.
"What?" Namjoon asked, brows furrowed as he awaited his answer.
"Darling," Hera started. "I think you've met your fated soul," Hera whispered in excitement.
"I- wait. Really?" A grin formed on Namjoon's face and he couldn't help but laugh softly to himself.
"Yes really!" Hera grinned at the sound of her son's happiness.
"Woah," Namjoon grinned softly and leaned his head into the back of the couch.
"This is so exciting!! I'm so happy for you, bear! Now about those aches, you really can't do much about them. Just have to wait for your fated soul to get better on their own." Hera explained.
"Damn, ok. Thanks, mom," Namjoon hummed, yawning a little as a sudden wave of tiredness set in.
"Get some rest, bear. You sound like you need it." Hera smiled softly into the phone.
"Ok," Namjoon yawned again. "Talk to you soon."
"Talk to you soon. Love you, bear." Hera grinned.
"Love you too." Namjoon smiled and waited until his mother hung up the phone before he put his down, slipped his glasses off, and then lay on the couch to take a nap.
"I hope nothing terrible happened to you," Namjoon thought to himself as he drifted off.
