CHAPTER 28

"Hey, can someone pass me a glass of water, please?"

"Get it yourself, Aisle. That's why you have your own hands" masungit na sagot ni Aienah sa kaniya. Umalis kasi ang parents nila and ayaw nila ng kasama ay mga kasambahay kapag gan'on so I'm used to be the one taking care of them kapag ganito

Inabot ko kay Aisle yung water kaya nag-thank you siya sa'kin. I wish I had a chance to have a sister or brother. Everything must be easy for me too

After eating we decided to go out to buy some school stuff. Malapit na kasing mag-graduate si Aienah and she just can't wait to end school daw. Aisle went out too but not with us. May important daw, he's courting someone na kasi

"He always go out at night but our parents doesn't even care. They be just lying on their beds sleeping tight" reklamo na naman ni Aienah sa'kin

"Maybe they're just tired... you know"

"They don't care. That's the only answer"

I just let her think what she want because I know that I can't force her. She's a grown up now but also our baby. Still, she probably know now what's wrong and right to do and to think in every situation in life

She loves reading books, something like fantasies. Kulang na nga lang magpabili siya ng sarili niyang fairy sa mom niya 'e

"I'll buy this nalang din so I can add sa collection ko"

"It's just the same tho, color lang naman naiba" I told her. Ten pieces kasi na notebook yung binili niya and they all look the same! Colors lang talaga naiba

"It's fine. Spending my parents money is the only thing they can give me so yeah, I'll make sulit na"

She treated me on a restaurant for our merienda. Yaman ah. Naul. N'ong 18 plus ako nasa bangketa ako e, nangmamalimos. Charot! I was busy helping so many people that I've forgotten about how I'm going to live by myself

Kaya ayun, simula n'ong umalis si tita to settle her life with her husband, I became nothing. Without manang, I don't know where I am right now. Baka nga nasa bangketa ako at namamalimos

After almost a thousand years picking some stuff at the national bookstore, we went home. Nand'on na rin si Aisle at nagluluto na ng dinner. It took us so many damn hours to unpacked everything she bought at just one store

"Bakit ang dami mong binili?" pasigaw na tanong ni Aisle sa kapatid

"Good for ten years na raw" I jokingly said

"Kuya, it's okay! It's our parents money so it's okay. I didn't rub some banks to get this so yeah"

She has a point. Pointless nga lang din. Charot! Maaga akong umakyat para makapaggawa rin ng ibang bagay para sa work ko naman. I'll be staying here for almost a week din kaya mediyo matagal akong hindi makakapagoffice

Palaging natawag sila Camille kapag gabi or kapag nasa bahay sila para raw malaman nilang walang nangyayaring masama sa amin. I told them it's fine since we have Aisle here pero sinasabi nilang duwag lang daw 'to at baka mauna pang tumakbo

I was doing some paperworks when someone texted me. It's from an unknown number but since he introduce his self, I know very well who it was

Hey, how's your day? I changed my phone number since my phone died yesterday. It's Jake! Your future.

I laughed before typing a reply. Mukhang naaawkwardan na 'to sa sarili niya ngayon

Hindi ako nakapagreply 'agad kasi humingi ng tulong si Aienah. Magluluto raw siya ng midnight snack pero hindi siya marunong. Pinagalitan ko pa siya kasi ang tamad niya talaga minsan and instead of learning some house hold chores busy siya kakapanood ng kpop daw

Parang nawindang ako sa sobrang daming messages niya. Hindi siya talkative in real life pero sa text, parang sobrang daldal. I miss him too. But even though, I must still know my limitation. I hate myself for being afraid everytime when I know I can handle everything too

I'm the one who called him nalang para makabawi. It's been almost 5 minutes and he's still not answering. Maybe he fell asleep? Or maybe he's doing something...

I just finished my last paper and wait if he'll call or what. Patapos na sana ako ng biglang mag ring ang phone ko. It was a factime call. Nagmadali pa akong magsuot ng maayos na pajama and put some powder sa face ko since hindi pa'ko nakakapag skincare

"Mhm.. hello!" bati niya ng sumagot ako. He looked so surprise pa nung nakita niya

"Hello! Why are you still awake?  Your doctor told me you should be asleep at this hour"

As his assistant, sinasabi rin sa'kin minsan ng doctor niya yung mga advice para ma-keep niya yung fit and healthy body niya

"It's fine. Ngayon lang naman..."

"Kumain ka na?"

I heard him said something pero hindi malinaw kasi nagmute yata siya and nag off ng camera

"Hey, are you okay? What did you said again?"

"Ha? Nothing. I said yes, I already ate"

"Mhm.. that's nic-"

"Rhaine! How to use the microwave? I told you to stay with me for a little bit longer, I think It has a bomb inside it because it just boomed earlier"

I get cut off when Aienah enters my room and told me that thing. I rushed out while calling Aisle, what the... She'll burn us here!

"Hey! But you're boyfriend is calling you!"

"Masusunog yung bahay, Aeinah!"

Gladly, nothing was harmed. Sumabog lang talaga yung microwave but we're fine. Luckily yes, we're fine.

"Ah, yes. She's super girlfriend material. You know before she always helped me in basketball since my Kuya is so mapangasar"

"Oh, really? I suddenly want to learn, basket ball.."

Nagulat ako ng biglang may magsalita sa background nung cellphone ko. Pukingina talaga, oo. Inagaw ko yung phone ko at mi-nute ko para hindi niya marinig ang sermon ko kay Aienah

"You're already a grown up, Aienah! You should've called me earlier before you start the microwave so I can teach you how it can be used. It can literally burn the house and I'm not yet ready to die specially when you both is here with me"

Nakatungo lang siyang nakaupo sa sofa habang si Aisle naman ay nasa kusina at tinatry na alisin yung amoy sunog. I know it was also my fault for not assisting her some things kasi tumaas na agad ako, but still. Still, she should've asked me first

"Hello? Rhaine? Don't yell at her. She's still young... She needs time to learn, okay? It's fine, uhmm, Eena? Yeah, It's fine. I'm also like that before, and after you learn everything will be alright"

Bigla kong naitapon yung phone nung bigla siyang magsalita! Nakakahiya! Sobrang nakakahiya gago

"Hello? Rhaine... Hey, uhm.. yeah, see you I guess. We'll talk about this"
