Jake on the other hand couldn't focus on his 'date' when he saw Bella entering the café his eyes were far away from his main attention, Mia.
He was rather confused, what was Bella doing in a couple's café? And when he saw Jay along with Bella, he understood why she was here.
Not long after Mia realizes that her 'date' is not paying attention to her and she asks him, "What are you looking at?"
That brings Jake back to earth and he tries to flirt his way through, "How can I look anywhere else when I have a beauty right in front of me?" he bites his lips at the end and that is enough to make Mia blush and she slides away her doubts.
"What do you think we should order?" Mia probes him, while looking at the menu in her hands.
"Whatever you want, baby." Jake facepalms and tries to act cute, Mia giggles along with him.
She then orders two americano's. Much to Jake's surprise.
He honestly hates bitter things, including and americano was beyond his limit to handle bitter things. He often questioned what people like in bitter coffees.
So, he tries to stop her and says, "I don't think americano is a good idea." Mia laughs at him, "Didn't you say to order whatever I want, are you going back on your word?"
Jake thinks for a while about it; he remembers about the time when Bella orders whatever he want and he then realizes that he doesn't even knew what she liked.
He takes a peep at her and it stings him to see her with Jay.
Moreover, he couldn't go back on his word. But he wasn't going to drink americano. Not today.
"What about lattes? Isn't this place famous for it?"
Mia nods her head in agreement and changes the order to two lattes.
Jake turns back to Bella and this time she was looking back at him, and he saw her shocked face, he couldn't tear apart his gaze. His mind starts running into spirals.
He saw her happy with him, she was laughing and chatting but when she saw him. She simply turned away and ignored him.
Wait did she just ignored me?
The most important question was, what was Jay doing with her? Didn't he tell her to stay away from him. They aren't dating, are they? He mentally shakes his head to get rid of these thoughts. If Bella was dating, she would tell him about it.
That's when he realizes that Bella had never told him about her crushes or her love life. He was the only one who would tell her about everything, was he that distant from her, that she couldn't even tell him about all of this?
And what if he was overthinking and what if they were just friends and just hanging out. 'Ugh! Why did you even care Jake?' but his counterpart replied. 'of course, you should, she your one and only best friend.'
All this while Mia was telling her about something and Jake didn't even hear a single word, since he was so busy thinking about Bella.
Mia notices it and she decides to ask him about it, "What do you think Jake?"
"About what?"
