Jake's sudden change in attitude confuses Bella. She looks over her shoulder and sees Mia stomping her heels in frustration.
To her bewilder, Jake was looking at her and then smiling the whole time, talking about their lectures as if nothing ever happened in between them.
According to Bella’s prediction, he would do this when he needs something from her or just wants to tell her about some good news and considering the given circumstances it was none of it.
Jake on the other is searching for the right time to ask her about Jay. He had prepared the conversation early in the morning, planned the dialogues and where to lead the conversation.
He had thought about this whole night, he wanted to know about her relation with Jay. She rarely talked about her love life and now He want to know everything about her. Maybe he was selfish and never listened to her, but now he was going to listen to her.
She was always there for him... now it was his time, she looked happy today much to his delight.
No, he would never let Jay around her, ever again. The sight of them being together haunts him at night.
Yes, he dreamed about them dating each other and it was a nightmare. Jake had his reasons; he made a promise to a certain someone.
This was very weird for Bella, but she decides to not think much about it. She smiles back and him. He soon starts asking her a ton of questions.
Bestowing his best smile, he casually asks her, “When did you reach home?”
Bella frowns her brows at him, was he starting to grow concern? She bits her lips and recalls the time, “Umm… Maybe around 8?”
Jake forms an ‘o’ with his lips and strikes back at her again, “And what about Jay?”
“We left together!” Bella replies and he wishes he shouldn't have ask her that question. He just slightly nodds at the given information.
“So, did you complete it or do you still need my help?” he probes her, praying that they wouldn’t have finish the task and he will still get a chance to edit it. More importantly, meet her. Just both of them.
“Yes, I did! Jay helped me with it, unlike someone who just left to watch the drama.” Bella remarks and sees Jake’s face getting low. Was she too rude?
The truth was, Jake couldn’t watch the drama yesterday, Jay being together with Bella was getting under her skin and he just knew that it wasn’t right.
He kept thinking about what they were doing at the moment and hence didn’t get chance to do anything else.
Maybe if he would have worked on new ideas, presenting it to Bella would have make her approve of him. But no, the thought couldn’t get away from his head as if it they were already a couple for him.
He even questioned himself if Bella thought the same while he dated random girls? Is this how a best friend feels? But Bella and Jay weren’t a couple, not yet at least.
They were about to reach the class when then both say the same thing at same time,
“Bella I am sorry!”
“Jake I am sorry!” and those words, shocks both of them.
“Why are you saying sorry? It was my mistake; I shouldn’t have left you with all that work. I didn’t even help you last week.” Jake says while sitting down in his seat, he owed an apology to her after all, but what he didn’t expect was hers.
“I said sorry because I was rude to you yesterday.” Bella imparts as she rests on her seat. Jake had never apologized to her, and if he did today, he must really mean it.
And they both glance at each other sideways and smile.
“I understand, anyone would’ve been that way, so… are we good now?” Jake raises an eyebrow and the end and Bella gives him a dramatic nod, making them both chuckle.
All was going well and Bella was genuinely happy with these happenings.
It all goes down when after the lecture Bella’s sees Mia calling Jake. She doesn’t give a thought about this and continues discussing with Eva.
After a while he comes back inside frustrated. Before Bella could ask him anything he goes away to his ‘so-called’ friends. And stays quiet until the end of the school.
Eva and Bella were walking on the corridors and Mia and her two friends gather up around her. Bella looks at Mia and says, “What do you want?”
