"...But the village will be fortified. Where's the water source?" Octavia asked one of our men. We stood in one of the buildings that hadn't been completely burned to the ground, we're planning on getting ahead of the army, scout the terrain.
"Here." The man said as he pointed to the edge of the map.
"Why? What are you thinking?" Indra asked. Before either of us could answer the door was opened and without even turning around, I think I know who it is.
"My question exactly." Clarke spoke from behind me. Octavia and I turned around to face Clarke and Bellamy with Miller and some other guards.
"Miller, your orders were to-" cooper began.
"-I know my orders. I think we should listen to what Clarke has to say." Miller interrupted her.
I looked at Clarke expecting her explanation.
"You can't take this route." She spoke.
"Why?" Indra asked, "you said the sea is gone, is it passable or not?"
"Yes. Maybe. But you have to understand-"
"Maybe's good enough for us, let's move out." I said as I headed for the door, I was almost outside but Bellamy grabbed my arm forcing me to spin around.
One of Wonkrus guards punched him in the face and kicked him causing him to fall on his knees, he unsheathed his sword ready to kill him, "Hoda op!" I quickly said.
"Ba heda." The guard began to protest.
"Hoda. Op." I repeated. The guard stood down but kept Bellamy on his knees.
I stood before him and looked down at him, "Speak."
"Please Bel, just hear us out." Bellamy asked from below me.
I slightly raised my hand so that Bellamy could get back on his feet and the guard released his grip on him.
"Bela, we are on the same side. No one wants to get to that valley more than me. It's my home. But this way is too risky." Clarke said.
"Risky how?" Indra asked once again.
Clarke looked at me, "show us." The said.
She made her way to the map on the table between Octavia and I.
"You chose the shortest route which makes sense, but the dry seabed is made by almost constant sandstorms." Clarke explained.
"We have the tents from the second dawn, sand won't be a problem." Octavia said.
"It's not just sand, some of it crystallized in Praimfaya. I'm talking shards of glass like razor blades. Your tents will be torn to shreds and so will you." Clarke reasoned.
Fair point.
"Blodreina is right. Besides we can only carry rations for 7 days, the sea route will take 6. The next shortest path adds 50 miles, that's 2 days if we're lucky." Cooper explained.
"How do we know there won't be sandstorms on the longer routes?" Indra asked.
"Enough." I stopped everyone, "We're doing this. The hydra farm is barely feeding us now so if this is the last living valley on earth, then it should be ours."
"Diyoza thinks the same thing." I head Bellamy say behind me.
"And so we fight." I said without turning around to face him.
Cooper and Indra made their way outside and I followed alongside with Indra, as I brushed my way past Bellamy I couldn't bear to look at him, one minute I'm missing him more than ever but now I know that he probably hates me. He looks at me differently now.
