Dear Diary,

I can't believe that this will be my last entry! A lot has happened since I wrote you last. My siblings have already told their stories surrounding Dad's event, the party and our big announcement, but this is my account. However unlike them, I won't have any dialogue until the last section. So here we go! Enjoy!

So as we were talking, a security guard came into my room and informed us that our guests were here. My twin and I looked at each other with huge eyes. We had been talking for hours and neither of us realised it. He rushed out first as I quickly followed him to see not just Holly and Lily, but Sydney and her husband too. Sydney rushed up to me and gave me a very tight embrace. Then Lily followed her lead as Issac and Holly were more cautious. I totally get their reasoning for it. But then Issac and Holly actually walked up to me and hugged me too. I was gobsmacked!

Then the four discussed the plan for the ceremony, the party and when to introduce me. It didn't take long for a plan to come together. They were all on the same page which made for a fast meeting. They even asked me my opinion on everything. It's really gobsmacked to know that this group cared about what I had to say. But everything sounded good to me and I had nothing to add.

After the meeting, Lily pulled out her camera and had me record a message for Dad. I told him how thrilled I was for him and how extremely proud I was of him. Then Lily had me record me saying that I wished I could be there and literally gutted that I would be missing everything. Lily said my message was the easiest to record because I knew what I wanted to say and that I never fought with her. However, Lily has gotten feisty since I've been gone. She was ordering my brother around and he just took it. Then Dylan recorded his message to Dad as well.

For the next week, I barely saw Dylan. He was either working on his master plan or helping mentor Josh, Avery and Bayley to take over for when they moved out. Even though I missed my brother, the time away gave me time to see what I needed to do to fix my relationships with everyone in my family. I would have to do a lot of forgiving for sure.

The morning of Dad's event, Dylan and I went over the schedule for the day, when I needed to be ready and what I needed to wear. My brother wasn't overly stressed, but was extremely buzzing too. Basically I needed to be ready when Issac came to pick me up in the middle of the ceremony and the party. I was gutted that I wasn't going to be in the ceremony photo, but Dylan said that Lily could digitally put me in later. I wanted my brother to come get me, but he said that it would look very suspicious if he left early. The goal was to surprise everyone else and probably couldn't be successful in the master plan if Dylan came for me. I get his reasoning, but it wouldn't make me miss him less.

I was ready on time as I found myself waiting on Issac to come pick me up. Thankfully he was on time. Then he took me back to the family estate. I guess they forgot to tell me that detail, but everyone had a lot on their plates. I totally understand. When Isaac and I arrived, he was able to sneak me into the back of the event center. I don't remember this being here on the property, but Issac says it wasn't new. Next up was my brother! It was great to be alone with him again!

He stayed with me until Sydney, came to release him. I thought she would start yelling at me for my actions and my selfish ways or at least turn into a mum, but she was sweet, loving and just the way that I remembered her. Every ten minutes or so, someone else would come to relieve the person sitting with me. I think this was done so that no one started to wonder where the missing person was and start to search for them. Maybe. My babysitters were Issac, Sydney, Dylan, Holly and Lily. They would just rotate every so often.

Suddenly, I heard a roar coming from the auditorium. Isaac rushed in to relieve Lily so that she wasn't late for her cue. Then he escorted me to the backstage waiting area. He wanted me close enough so that we didn't miss my cue. After the crowd hushed, I could hear Lily introducing the tribute that she had made for Dad. It sounded like Lily did a great job with it and I hope to see it sometime. She had even added in some humour to a pretty serious film.

Issac got my attention and informed me that it was almost my time to make my great entrance. I slowly nodded as a billion thoughts and worries flooded my head. Would they accept me back into their lives? Did they even want me here? Was this a massive mistake? As my brain went quickly off of the rails, Issac placed his hand on mine and simply said that everything was going to be alright. I decided to trust him and hope that he was right. I wouldn't know the answer either way if I just stayed right here. So I got up with the small amount of confidence that I had, walked up the steps with Issac's help and waited for my cue.

Suddenly, Lily said her line about that the event wouldn't be the same without someone here. Then slowly the curtains moved out of the way as I stepped up. I could see a dark audience as I spotted my Dad in the front row. I blew him kisses! I thought there would be a roar of boos, but instead there was a roar of excitement as everyone was happy to have me back. Before I could wave, Dad rushed over and threw his arms around me. I've been waiting for this hug for the longest time. Then his wife hugged me as she cried happy tears. As we were hugging, Dad held us both in his arms. I guess it's safe to know that they had missed me too.

Then someone from the audience yelled, welcome back as I couldn't help the tears that raced out of my eyes. This was the best homecoming that I could ever wish for. Then Dad helped me off of the stage as everyone lined up to say hello too. Afterwards, I sat next to Dylan as Dad gave a speech about how honoured he felt to have his star, how thrilled he was that everyone could be here and how blessed he felt to have all of us in his life. After we gave him a standing ovation, Dad asked who was involved with knowing that I was coming back. Uncle Nick, Dylan, Lily, Holly, Isaac and Sydney proudly stood up as Dad called them the usual suspects. The crowd shared a laugh. Then Dad asked who was the mastermind as everyone but my brother remained standing proud of himself. Dad thanked him wholeheartedly as happy tears were brought to Dad's eyes.

The party went well! After we helped clean it up, Dylan, Holly and Lily looked at each other and nodded as they knew it was time to do a very hard task. I decided to sit in on the meeting because I would be staying at their new manor for a month and I wanted to be included.

Here's what my siblings wanted me to write:

Holly= "Mom and Dad we have some news to share with you. Please remember that our love for you won't change."

Lily= "We don't want to hurt you. But this living arrangement is not working for us anymore."

Dylan= "Just so you know, it's nothing bad. But life's a journey and we're taking a new path."

Me= "We know that change is hard. However, life should change every now and then."

This has been a crazy adventure! Thanks for sticking with me, Diary!

Love,

Rochelle

I know this story wasn't as popular as The Trap, but POV is something I wanted to get better at for the sake of my other story, My Unexpected Life and try to make it better as a result. When I start a story, I won't stop until it's complete as I don't like to have unfinished stories. I'm planning on writing another Trap story that will be written the way The Trap was written, in third person.

Thank you for the support and for reading my stories! I really appreciate it!
