This day started like any other day, but it wouldn't end the same. The trouble started when I couldn't get ahold of my Dad. I was going to ask if he wanted to get lunch and talk about his plan to actually talk to Holly. I know he's not good at winging things so I thought I could help him out. Anyway I walked over to his office and there I found out from his secretary that he had left for the day. He usually lets me know if he's going to step out of the office for a few hours so this is really unusual for him to not tell me what he was doing.

So I checked my messages in the hope I would find out where he had run off to. I even called Mom and simply asked if she had heard from him, but she didn't know a thing either. My parents share a brain so for Mom not to know, raised some red flags for sure. I was now officially worried about him. I didn't want to worry my siblings because they were all busy with school and or work. Dad would call me back eventually, right?

I tried to keep my mind on work and not thinking the absolute worse happened to my father. When I got home, all the normal cars were in the garage and thankfully Dad's car was here too. It didn't necessary mean that he was here though. But I'm was relieved to see that no cop cars were in the driveway, so as far as I knew at that moment, he's was alright. After I parked and locked my car, I made the long walk over to the front door. Once there I slid my key in, turned it until I heard a click and took a deep breath before opening the door just a smudge.

"Hello?"

There was no answer which is really strange because a house filled with kids should be noisy. I closed and locked the door. I was about to look around for at least one soul, when I noticed Lily running towards me from the room to the left of me. It's either called the sitting room or the living room, but I don't know what the proper name is. So I refer to it as the boring room because there's no television, two long and uncomfortable couches, a bookshelf and a bloody piano. But the best part is my Dad's chair. When I was a teenager, that's where we would find Dad sitting when we got in after curfew. I used to be terrified to find him sitting there with the look of disappointment written all over his face. But now when Dad's away on a business trip, I love spooking out my younger siblings when they get in way too late.

I opened my arms in the nick of time before Lily ran into my chest or pushed me into the door. Lily and I have always had an amazing brother and sister relationship. She always wants to be with me and follow my lead even if it's down the wrong path. For the record, it wasn't my fault. I gave her the option and she took me up on it. We were an okay team, but it honestly didn't work out too well because she's really sweet at her core. So being a rebel wasn't meant for her because though she had sass, it was more of an act. But the title of the queen of sass and being a rebel belongs to Holly because those are two characteristics of her. But anyway, I'm so glad that Lily out that the rebel lifestyle wasn't for her and we got our sweet and innocent Lily back.

"Dylan!"

"What's up, Lil?"

She pulled on my arm. "Just come with me."

"But why?"

"Dad's in trouble."

"Wha-what happened? Is he alright?"

"Yes he's fine. I meant he's in trouble with Holly."

"Oh I got to see this!"

I literally dropped everything and rushed into the boring room. There I found Holly and our parents sitting on the couches. Mom was sitting on the couch with Holly, but when she saw me, she got up and welcomed me home. Even though she was smiling at me, I could tell that she was faking her happiness for my sake. My Dad was just sitting on the other couch without any emotion on his face whatsoever. I really don't feel bad for him because I told him not to wing this very delicate matter and does he listen to me? Hell no. He's so stubborn all of the damn time. I'm so glad that I didn't inherit that trait from him. And Holly was messing with her mobile, probably trying to get her mind on something else.
