All the way to my favorite bar, 'Leaping Frog Lounge', Axel held my hand and drove well with his left hand. When I drive, I need two hands on the wheel at all times, otherwise I feel out of control. I really don't have any interest in doing something so dangerous like that. But to have my boyfriend hold my hand while driving, is really sweet and romantic.
When we arrived, he was a perfect gentleman again! He held my hand all the way from the parking lot, into the bar and straight to our table. After we ordered some food and drinks; my usual long island iced tea and he had a beer, Axel couldn't stop looking and smiling at me from across the table.
"What?"
"Oh nothing. I was just looking at my beautiful girlfriend!"
I blushed.
"But why are you my sister's nanny? I mean she's a stay-at-home mom."
"Well um I think she gets lonely when Isaac is at work."
"Wow, I never thought of that. But now that you say that, it makes perfect sense."
Just then my phone dinged.
(I can't believe that I forgot to turn off the ringer. I was so embarrassed!)
"Who texted you?"
"My Mom."
Mom had sent all of my siblings and I a reminder about Saturday's family gathering on the beach. We're also encouraged to bring our significant other. Out of the blue, I just started laughing.
"What?"
I showed him the text. As he read it, his eyes lit up and a smile cracked upon his face.
"That's funny, Lil."
"Yeah I know, right?! You wanted to meet my family as my boyfriend and this is the perfect opportunity!"
"Yeah it is!"
Then I explained to him how all of my brothers are super protective of me. He didn't seemed too worried about it because he's an older brother too, so he understood completely. In fact he had put Isaac through his own tests when Isaac started dating Sydney.
"Um my family means the world to me. But the opinions of Dylan, Holly and my parents matter most to me, okay? So please try to make good impressions to them, okay? I know you already know them, but you're my boyfriend so it's different now."
He nodded and placed his hand on top of mine. "Don't worry Lil, I got this."
"I hope so."
"Well I know so."
Ax and I had fun on our date! After we finished eating and drinking, we first played darts and then foosball before he dragged me onto the stage to do karaoke. As crazy as it seems, I won! I'm so glad that he didn't bring it up how I should tell my parents of my hidden talent. We were about to go somewhere else (I can't remember where), when Ax remembered that he was due back to Sydney's for dinner. So he quickly drove us back and dropped me back to my car.
"I wish that I could escort you home."
"Why?"
"So I know that you got home safe."
"I'll text you, okay?"
"Thanks."
Then we expressed love for each other before parting ways. However neither he nor I wanted to let go, but we knew we needed to let go before Sydney came out of her house. As I drove off, I saw Ax in my rear view mirror as he watched me leave my favorite street.
