I think that it's a blessing and a curse to want to help everyone around me. It's a blessing because it brings me joy seeing those around me happy. But it can also be a curse because if people aren't happy to have my help and a disaster happens in the process. So I guess it's the risk I have to take in helping those around me. For instance, my older sister, Holly really needs to find love. I can tell that she's struggling in this area and I really want to help her. But every time I would suggest a man for my sister, she would always find an excuse why she couldn't go out with them. It's very frustrating to be completely honest.

Sydney could see the struggle I was having with helping Holly with her love life because she offered to help me out. So she and I have been brainstorming different ways to find Holly a boyfriend. I suggested that we should secretly set her up for online dating and set her up on actual dates with the possible men that we would find for her. Syd liked my idea, but we knew my plan had a high chance of backfiring. Fortunately, Sydney is on our favorite bar's mailing list. She saw that the bar hosts speed dating every Tuesday night. This was the best solution without being too pushy. Hopefully Holly will find her first boyfriend at the event tonight!

Now the question became, how do we trick my sister into coming with us without her finding out a thing? Unlike my big sister, I'm not good at thinking on my feet. I needed an actual plan before I even walked to her door. After I thought of a white lie, I put one foot in front of the other and made my way to her room. I knocked gently onto her door. There was no turning back now.

"Who is it?"

"It's me!"

"Come in, Lil."

"Hey Hol, do you have any plans tonight?"

"You're looking at it."

"So you're free?"

She nodded.

"Great!"

"What are you up to, Lilian?"

Uh oh she knows! She only calls me 'Lilian' when I'm in trouble.

"Um do you want to go to Barnes and Noble with Syd and I?"

"Hold up, lemme see if I got this right. You two wanna go to a bookstore at night?"

"Yeah. What's wrong with that?"

"Just odd, that's all."

"Please come with us. Syd was saying how she misses us three hanging out. I can't remember that last time we did."

"Yeah, it has been a while."

"So will you come with us, please?"

"Sure, but I'm not buying a book."

Even though I knew she could see through me and my unskilled lying, I'm glad that she agreed to come along with us anyway. But I'm so shocked that my plan worked! Then I was on my way out when I remembered what Sydney told me to say. I dreaded relaying Sydney's message because I wasn't sure how Hol would respond to it. Hopefully she won't shoot the messenger.

"Oh and no graphic tees."

"Why?"

"Sydney wants you to wear a dress."

"Uh has she ever met me before?"

"Yes, but I'm dressing up too."

"Good for you. But I only wear dresses for special occasions. Everyone knows that!"

"Just please wear a dressy top and jeans, okay?"

She agreed but sighed heavily. Then I left her room for real this time and went straight to my room to got myself ready. I'm glad that it went okay and that Holly didn't kill me. I was so nervous!
