Greg hadn’t changed much. His hair was a bit longer but still dirty blond. He had outgrown beard as well. He looked good, and I hated that. I hated how there was a monster hidden behind his god like exterior. That’s how he made me fall into his trap. With his handsome features and English man charm.

In shock, I hadn’t noticed that he was holding a knife in his hands casually. I gulped.

“You know, I was very disappointed and hurt when I found out that you had run away. It took all my willpower not to go after you right away and kill anyone who stood in my way. Instead, I gave you time to realize that you belong by my side. I thought you loved me, baby, but then I have to find out that you are running around with that piece of trash Animus. Now that really pissed me off.” He looked up from his knife and into my eyes. There was pure evil in them. This man was not sane, and for my affliction, I was the reason behind his insanity. He was obsessed with me and he would kill me if there was no other way, because Greg was not going to let me go. If he couldn’t have me, no one would.

I took a step back, ready to run, but he raised his hand and moved his index finger from one side to another. “Uh, uh, uh.” He shook his head as well, warning me. “Don’t do that, baby. You wouldn’t want your friend. What was her name... Piper? Yes... You wouldn’t want for Piper to get hurt, now would you?” I stopped in my tracks. How did he know about her?

“You know, I have been following you for a few days now and learned some interesting things. You never told me that your family was a part of the Grim’s gang. How small the world is huh” he chuckled. I had no idea what he was trying to imply by this information, but I knew that I had to get to Piper somehow and warn her. Then I needed to go to my dad. It was time for him to know the truth.

Unfortunately, Greg had other plans that were completely opposite of mine.

“Come on, let’s go for a midnight walk.” He held out his hand for me to take it. I was too scared to move. I was completely frozen, if not for the trembling body I had.

“I won’t bite. Now come on before I really lose my cool,” Greg sighed and said in a much more threatening tone. Before, he was speaking in a soft and caring voice, but that was not who he was. Greg was menacing and cruel person who cared only for himself.

I snapped out of my dazed stated and dreadfully took his hand. As our skin touched, he pulled me against his chest and inhaled my scent.

“God, I missed you,” he whispered, his eyes closed. When he opened them, he turned around and dragged me further away from the bar that seemed like the safest place on earth at the moment.

I was freaking out. Where was he taking me and what was he going to do to me? Why my life couldn’t just be normal and boring like most people? Why I couldn’t have peace for once?

I tried to get away from his grip but all I did was earn a rough tug on my wrist, making it seem like it snapped.

“Wh...where are you taking me?” I finally managed to ask. I was freaking out, and it was understandable.

“I just want to spend time with my girl,” Greg answered. I didn’t ask anything else, afraid to piss him off as he kept dragging me further in the woods.

I was slowly losing my cool and wanted to break down and cry, but was too afraid that it would make Greg snap and that was the last thing I wanted to happen. What if he decided to kill me and get rid of my body by leaving it in the forest? Fuck, why couldn’t I stop thinking about all the possibilities that could go wrong?

“Why so quiet?” sudden question made me jump a little, and a whimper escaped my mouth. “Relax babe, I ain’t going to do anything to you.” My reaction made him chuckle. He seemed amused by my misery.

It was weird how I seemed to be more scared now than I ever was when we lived together.

“Come on, talk to me. I haven’t heard your soft voice for a while. I missed it. Tell me, did you miss me?” Even frozen in fear, I couldn’t stop from huffing. Did he actually think that I would miss him?

Suddenly, I was thrown forward and fell on the frozen forest ground. He was going to kill me here. I was so dead.

Greg jumped on me and pressed his hand down against my neck, making it almost impossible to breathe.

“Do you think I’m funny, you bitch?” He spat in my face. He was a furious beast that I so foolishly had pulled by the tail.

I tried to pray his hands off from my neck, but nothing worked.

“P...please,” I choked out.

Greg brought his face to mine so close that our noses were touching.

“I love it when you beg,” he smirked.

“Greg... pl....” My face seemed swollen and was burning. I couldn’t take this anymore. My eyes were watering.

He crushed his lips against mine, but quickly pulled away. Finally, he let go of my neck and got up. I rolled on the ground, taking in all the air I could. That was not a great feeling at all, as my throat was burning and it hurt to swallow. The skin on my neck would definitely bruise.

He kneeled in front of me, pushed some hair strands out of my face, and sighed.

“I never wanted to hurt you, baby, but you gave me no choice. All you had to do was listen to me and be good,” he said in a sweet voice.

I whimpered as he caressed my cheek.

“Can you do that for me? Can you be a good girl?” Greg tried to look into my eyes, but avoided his gaze as much as I could. That seemed to hit the nerve, and he grabbed my jaw in a tight grip, making me look at him.

“Answer me,” he gritted through his teeth, making me whimper once again.

“Y...yes,” I squeaked like a little mouse.

“That’s good to hear, baby, because I really hate hurting you. All I want to do is to make you happy. You know that, right?” He was a total sociopath.

I couldn’t answer him, so I just nodded in agreement. What was I supposed to do? I was not stupid enough to piss him off no more than I already had. I wanted to live a little longer and die in a sleep, not in agonizing pain, while my crazy ex raped and beat me to death.
