Hearing his voice so suddenly made me jump a little. I calmed my breathing and faced Animus, who was only in his white boxer briefs. I looked at his magnificent body that was as if he was an art work carved into marble. Only covered in tattoos. A lot of them. His arms, neck, chest, even his legs. It looked weird, yet oddly satisfying. I wondered how many hours had he spent under the needle?

I finally snapped out of it and looked back up at his face. Only with a slight delay at his crotch area. Who could blame me? His manhood was worth looking at.

Animus didn’t seem fazed by his lack of clothes. Not that I mind, but what did I mind was that smug look on his face.

“How did you get into the room? I locked the door from the inside.” I looked at him accusingly.

“My house. My doors. My keys.” He shrug his shoulders and walked by me. “I look good, but staring is rude, you know,” he whispered in my ear.

I glared at him as he kept walking. I followed him.

“I need my car keys,” I said as we entered the kitchen.

“You’ll get them when we arrive at your place,” he stated. What?

“What do you mean we?” I was frustrated. Again. Or should I say still? How could one guy get on my nerves so much?

“We are going together. Stacy is there and I am going to take her home later. So, what would you like for breakfast?” He was acting as if everything was so normal, like the fact that grass is green.

“I want you dead on a silver platter with heart ripped out and with your left foot stuck up your ass,” I mumbled, but stopped in my tracks as soon as that left my mouth. That was too much, even for me in my worst mood.

“Wow. That’s a bit disturbing, don’t you think?” Animus took eggs and milk out of the fridge and looked at me. “I can’t help you with the dead part or ripped heart and that foot part. Neither do I have a silver platter, but I could offer you myself on a king-sized bed,” he smirked. What happened to him never smiling what so ever? I took one apple that was placed on the counter next to where I was standing and threw it at his head. For my utter disappointment, he dodged.

“Wow. You are violent this morning. Is it just today or you are always like that?” He put up his hands in a surrender manner.

“I think it’s just you. I mean, you are the most annoying, insufferable asshole I’ve had the unfortunate luck to meet.” I shrugged my shoulders. That was not a lie. I really did dislike this man. And I wanted to get away from him as soon as possible.

“Ouch. And here I thought we had something going on between us,” he fake pouted.

“Just give me my damn keys.” I was done with him. I wanted to get home, have a long hot shower.

“After we finish breakfast,” Animus turned away from me and faced the stove. He started to put eggs in the plastic bowl. After adding seasoning and milk, he started to whisk.

That’s it. I stormed out of the kitchen. I thanked God that Animus had unlocked front door as I stormed out. I was just hoping that he had left the car unlocked, too. I kept a spare key under the driver's seat. I know that it would do nothing if the door was locked, but in this situation, they would save me. It was an emergency key, and this was an emergency. I rushed to the car doors, and they opened.

“Yes!” I rejoiced and took the key from under the seat and started the car’s engine. I put the gear in reverse.

“Amabel. Get out of the fucking car!” Animus came out of the house, still almost naked. He was yelling so loudly that I heard him in the car.

“Fuck you!” I yelled back and showed middle finger to him before I pulled out of the drive way and sped off to my house.

As I reached my destination, the anger that I had managed to suppress on the way there reappeared in full force when I saw Alex standing outside smoking a cigarette. It was all his fault of what happened yesterday.

I turned off the engine on the car as soon as it was off the main road, not caring if it was on the sidewalk, or on the lawn. All I cared at the moment was to beat the shit out of my brother.

“Good morning, baby girl. Where’s Animus.” Alex smiled at me all cheerfully. I walked up to his face and kneed him in the balls. He moaned in pain and fell down just like Animus did last night.

“Do not dare to talk to me. Not only you ruined my night, but you left me with your psychopath friend. I am not going to forgive you, Alex. I’ve been through enough shit already. I will not let anyone step over me ever again,” I seethed through gritted teeth. I didn’t even notice my dad, who had come out of the house looking at both of his children with worry in his eyes.

“And I sure as hell won’t let you threaten me ever again.” I finally turned to my dad.

“Good morning, dad.” I smiled at him and kissed his cheek. I felt a lot calmer after my attack on Alex. I guess I just needed to get all that off of my chest and he was the right person to use for that.

Dad just kept looking from me to Alex and back, as if that would explain what had happened. Sorry dad, but you'll have to wait. I needed to pee badly.
